I have a few music questions
I am going to have my bridal party come in to “Simple Gifts” by the New York Philharmonic, originally I’d been thinking of using Canon in D as my entrance song- but I’m afraid the tunes don’t mesh well… can someone give me any thoughts? I really love Simple Gifts now that I’ve heard it, so I’m pretty stuck on that. I just feel like it builds a lot… so I wasn’t sure if I should go with something more building, like Ode to Joy.
Also when we enter the reception, is it traditional to have everyone enter to the same song, or switch it up for the bride and groom. I want my fiance and I to enter to dynamite by tiao cruz (yep- totally different from ceremony! but it’s more of an inside joke!) Should I use that for the rest of the wedding party, or have theirs be something else. THoughts?

For the reception, I think it’s totally acceptable to have one song for the bridal party and one song for the bride and groom’s entrance. I see that a lot, and that’s what we did.
For your ceremony, I’d choose whichever songs you like best and not worry too much about how they sound together. Everyone is going to be so focused on you! So pick the song you’re dying to hear while you walk down the aisle. 🙂

@emily.doss: It is definitely okay to have different reception entrance songs. In fact, we had three: The bridesmaids went in to “Moves like Jagger,” the groomsmen to “Dance With Me” (by 112), and my husband and I went in to Electric Feel by MGMT (the Justice remix). It was awesome 🙂
