I have a set I got at a pawn shop for like $400? I may sell it, I’m undecided. Its .50ctw G SI1.

Bought a ring on ebay advertised as vintage amethyst solitaire for $50. Turned out to be Alexandrite! Jeweler thinks it is natural due to nature of color change (5 colors identified) and physical exam under loupe… but only a paid appraisal will tell for sure. Still – I am pleased! ๐Ÿ™‚

So it’s not a travel ring, but I found my dream setting on EBay literally the week after we tried it on in person, being sold by a company that owns some Pawn shops and works with other pre-owned jewelery. It’s a platinum Pave Tacori setting, we bought for $1400 instead of the retail $5k+. Better yet, it’s actually never been worn, but I believe it was one of those floor samples from a jeweler that stopped selling Tacori.

We were so lucky to find it, especially because I have an ethical objection to both the human rights and environmental aspects of mining for precious metals/diamonds, so going pre-owned was the goal for me. No need to destroy more of the Earth if something you love is already out there ๐Ÿ™‚

NEAM2014:  Wowwww! Only $100, I love it!!

I also got a pawn shop band, it’s the little skinny twisty one here. I think it was about $80, which was a good deal, but not nearly as good a deal as yours!

Congratulations on your little beauty!

Amazing rings, ladies! I need to spend more time in pawn shops and less time in porn shops!
