My last post featured our pro ceremony pics. Now enjoy our reception! Yay!
My husband created these all-in-one escort cards, programs, and menus for our guests.
Whimsical table arrangements with an array of flowers reminiscent of an enchanted forest.
Banners illustrating our families’ Coat of Arms.
White chiffon cake with lemon filling and buttercream frosting, delicate decoration throughout.
Our cake topper, with Shakespeare quote, perfect for us as we are both actors.
Our tables were named after productions we’d been in together. “Sweet Charity” was our first show together and where we met. I carved this craft pumpkin and others. Yay DIY!
Pumpkin colored favor bags included jars of orange blossom honey (our orange blossom theme continues, as well as representing my husband’s German heritage), purple chocolate covered fortune cookies with orange sprinkles (Hubby is also part Chinese), Italian Basil seed packets (my heritage), and a card for each guest to write a “wish” for our Wish Tree.
Decor at our sweetheart table. Another craft pumpkin I carved with “Mr. & Mrs.”, fun ribbon labels and tealights nestled in coffee bean filled jars.
Our ceremony lanterns at twilight.
We entered the reception hall singing “The Rhythm of Life” a groovy 60’s song from the musical Sweet Charity where we met. Original cast members joined us. Youtube the Sammy Davis Jr. version and you’ll get the picture.
Our first dance to “That’s All” sung by Michael Bublé.
Each long set of tables had centerpieces of “trees”…manzanita branches tied together with ruscus leaves and stephanotis throughout. Lovely forest effect.
A sampling of our most delicious family style meal with pesto chicken, tri-tip in wine reduction sauce, orecciette and roasted garden vegetables.
My husband’s eldest son making a surprise and brave speech that took our breath away. The hall erupted in cheers when he finished. He said he couldn’t have asked for a better stepmom. I was a mess.
Hugging the sweetie pie, Wish Tree behind us.
Singing “Love Shack” a karaoke favorite of ours. 😉
Sweet Charity original cast members.
Bouquet toss! I look so serious about it! 🙂
Garter toss, my husband singing “Minnie the Moocher!”
The getaway car, strewn with confetti, streamers, flowers inside, and a “Just Married” Magnet on the door. 🙂
