Engaged two weeks now!! He proposed on our 5 year anniversary. As he was placing onto my finger, he told me this story.
In 1955, his grandfather worked two part time jobs; one before school as a paper boy and one after school as a milk man. His grandmother passed it to my fiance’s father, who’s wife passed it onto us. She said to me, “This is a symbol of us welcoming you into our family.”
It means so much to me. My parents were never married, and both sets of grandparents are divorced. I never believed that love could last forever. Now I can’t ever see us being apart. 🙂
It’s nothing fancy, but it means the world to me. We will get our own set in a few years when we are comfortable. Then pass it on to our child 🙂
I am so happy.

Exquisite! Don’t be so sure you’ll EVER be ready to part with it, even to your own child- you may find that your love for this ring, unique both in history and appearance, will just continue to grow!

I love it! I agree with ann.reid.9277. I bet you wear this for as long as you live. Then leave it to your child. It’s just such a precious and beautiful ring.

ann.reid.9277: That was my first thought! My soon to be MIL said that it took her 10 years before she got her own set, and that she still wore it along with her new one for another 5 before finally taking it off and putting it away.
