I feel as though I’m constantly asking to see pictures of people in their gowns and it’s only fair I show mine. Actually, I think I wanted an excuse to take my dress out and you ladies are it.
I folded a queen blanket in half and laid it on the floor in front of the only full length mirror in my little home, which is in the hallway outside the bathroom. Please excuse the background.
This is a size 8 that I found at Vows (aka Bridepower.com) in Watertown, MA (just outside of Boston). They sell samples and overstocks…I’m not sure where this dress came from, but it was in almost perfection condition. It needs to have taken in a bit, so pardon the awckward pose as I hold a fist full of fabric behind my back.
I’m not sure about how to wear my hair. I do not like wearing my hair all up, but I sort of feel like the dress demands it with the bow. What do you think?

Your hair would be perfect up with that dress.

Wow! Love your dress, it’s beautiful!
Not sure what advice to give on hairstyle. Maybe a half-up half-down? That way your hair is up enough to see the bow.

So pretty!! 🙂 I’d love your hair up with this dress.

Maybe I can wear it up if there’s some volume in the front. I don’t look very good with a severe hair style. 🙂

Hair up, but soft and loose.

One thing you coud do is wear it off to your left side? Like in a low loose ponytail with a flower/bow? That way you could maintain the smoothness of the “down” look that you love so much, but making it a little more formal. That dress is stunning!

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: I don’t like my hair pulled back tight either. 🙂 I wore my hair up, although my hubby said he wouldn’t classify it as ‘up’. I told the hairstylist I didn’t want a ‘bump’ and I didn’t want it to look severe. More of a loose effect was what I wanted, and I loved my hair. I’m including a photo of my hair, and some of other updo’s that are a bit softer. 🙂 Ignore me if you don’t like them.

Ooh! Pretty pictures! Thanks for sharing. I need to start looking for more inspiration pictures!
Okay, I just got back from my first fitting on my ceremony dress. Or maybe it’s my second fitting? Anyway, it’s still too big, but we agreed that I’m taking it home for a few months and will get it altered again a little closer to the wedding date. 🙂
My little seamstress was so cute…I thought she’d chastise me for having two dresses, but she actually liked the idea. 🙂

@StarryNight2011: I think the pic of Jessica Alba you posted would go perfectly with that dress!

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: Hello, WOW!! Those dresses are AMAZING!!! Now I know why you weren’t trying on any at CSB! Those are both so gorgeous! I think you should wear your hair up for those.
