Oh, don’t be upset! Many brides with no health issues choose to wear sneakers/converse/flipflops. You just need to feel comfortable on your wedding day! Plus if your dress is long, no one will probably see your shoes anyway.

nikkit722:  Oh, I feel you! I’m sure most of us would feel the same way if we didn’t have the choice to wear what we wanted. On the upside, if your dress is hemmed at the correct length, it’s unlikely that anyone else will ever know what you’re wearing underneath it! But of course, I’m sure you will still be aware.

Perhaps you can do something to customise them so that they feel a little more special? You could add some sparkles or rhinestones yourself, or pretty laces? Maybe check out pinterest for some inspiration. I’m sure you’ll end up with prettier and more comfy shoes than the rest of us ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good luck!

nikkit722:  Oh lovely don’t worry! Chances are no one will see your shoes anyway, plus you’ll be a hell of a lot more comfortable in sneakers than any bride wearing heels!

nikkit722:  I’m sorry to hear that, but are you absolutely uncertain about trying a new brand of sneakers? Maybe you could find some sparkly ones! OR, maybe you could DIY a pair, just cover them in glitter and/or rhinestones, you could paint them, silver sharpie them, anything. If you wear a floor length dress no one will see them anyways, so you could really go crazy, any imperfections don’t matter, and knowing you did something to take charge of your situation a bit could make you feel more victorious than defeated.

You could do sparkly or shiny or lacy laces!

I’m sorry you don’t get to wear the shoes you want. I think your shoes could really be something special. Do you have your dress yet? If you post a pic you might get specific suggestions on how to make the shoes gorgeous and funky.

I looked, its gorgeous on you!

I think some sort of satin ribbon laces would be pretty. You could spray the shoes with a glitter spray and maybe add some sparkly crystals.

I think the dress is long enough that your shoes won’t be the focus.

I found some fun shoe ideas.  These are not done on New Balances, but I am sure with a little creativity that they would work out and look fantastic.  If you didn’t want to do it yourself I am sure someone on Etsy could do it.

Beauty and the Beast was (and is) my favorite!  I would personally love to have these no matter what the occasion.

These are both from Etsy and great if you are into Disney.

Fun ombre shoes!  You could use your own wedding colors.

I think these were done with Martha Stewart glitter paint.

I thought these were super fun and funky.

And these pretties were designed by Karl Lagerfeld for 2014!

I was just looking at New Balance online.  Two of the styles are available for customization.  You can even add embroidered “Just Married” to the back of the shoes!

Don’t feel sad.  This just gives you a chance to have the coolest shoes of any bride ever.  Have fun with it!

You should totally find some amazing laces!  Also, in Father of the Bride she had super awesome bridal sneakers- she looked fab!  ๐Ÿ™‚  I’m sure that if you reached out to an etsy seller you could totally find one who would decorate your sneakers for you!  Comfort is going to go a looooong way on the day….you’ll rock whatever shoes you wear, simply because you’re the bride my dear!

No one will ever know they’re under your dress if it’s hemmed right – although I totally understand wanting to wear a tall, sleek heel and feeling like that’s prob not gonna happen. I have an injured left foot from a running injury, so heels are out of the question for me, too – although I think I have more choices than you do. You will be beautiful no matter what you have on your feet. ๐Ÿ™‚

nikkit722:  I love and agree with all the other bee suggestions and comments to support you wearing your New Balance sneakers! No one will know and you’ll be super comfy. Perhaps for fun you coud buy some heels anyhow and take photos of you in them sitting with your dress beautifully fanned out around you? A garden photo among flowers or something? Also, I wonder if you might write/inspire the folks at New Balance to create a pair of wedding sneaker/shoes with you and other brides with spina bifida in mind? It might be neat for them to know that there are brides out there who are interested in a little sparkle in their New Balance steps! ๐Ÿ™‚

nikkit722:  Have you considered the run disney Cinderella New Balance Sneakers? You can find them on ebay, they are pricey as they are resale but you could have pretty blue sneakers. I dont know your size but here is a photo (the pink is minnie mouse):
