My mom was so happy this time around because I was having a girl and she could finally dress up one of my kids! I told her not to bother with cute dresses and outfits because in my house, babies live in their PJs forever. Outfits are a pain to put on, and they kick off their socks all the time. I want clothes that are easy to put on and that will keep my baby warm.

She went ahead and bought a bunch of stuff anyway. It is now sitting in drawers, and whenever my mom asks about them, I remind her that we don’t plan on using outfits for a while.

My daughter is 3.5 months now and I am just starting to put outfits on her when we went to visit people over the holidays. And now we’re back in jammies and until summer and nice weather, I don’t see that changing.

Don’t feel bad.. Donate the clothes that you don’t use, somewhere along the way, someone will use them.

Don’t feel bad, if I could stay in PJ’s all day I would too!

I think your baby looks cute, comfy and obviously well cared for. That’s all that matters!

Ok, so I didn’t read through ALL the responses, but seriously! Give yourself a break, Mama! It’s not the end of the world that she didn’t wear the outfits, as long as you don’t literally throw them away. Box them up if you’re planning to have another baby. Maybe you won’t get a pukey one next time. (True story: My bother -15 years younger than me- thew up ALL The Time! He was also a 6 outfit a day kid. It was insane. Sister – 17 years younger than me – never spit up. Seriously, I have zero recollection of her puking, that’s how uncommon it was. We all thought it was some sort of miracle  and joked we paid our dues with Brother.)

Otherwise, donate them to Salvation Army or another thrift store. There are SO MANY mommas out there that would love to buy them. I know I personally plan to buy a lot of baby clothes from second hand shops because it’s pretty easy to find nice things that have clearly never been worn or only worn once.

Plus seriously.. If you were a baby, would you want to constantly be wearing outfits? No! You’d want to be in whatever was the most snuggly. ; )

My baby mostly just got wrapped in blankets for the first month, and then wore pjs for another 2 or 3 months. He was born in November, so we weren’t going very many places anyway. I started dressing him for real at about 4 months (on an everyday basis–he did wear real outfits on special occasions before that). Now he still spends the occasional day in his PJs (mostly when dad is in charge) and he is 1! He’s been slow growing, so all of his clothes have still gotten plenty of use.

Do whatever makes your day the tiniest bit easier.

Maybe the next time you’re out and you have the urge to buy Audrey something look into a shirt that buttons in the front so you don’t have to pull it over her head. There aren’t that many options most likely, but I’m sure you could find a cute button up shirt and jeans or leggings for her to wear when she’s out and about! I wouldn’t feel too bad about her living in her PJs though. The baby I nanny is always in sweatpants and a onesie due to his spitting up, and I think his PJs are a lot cuter TBH!

Did you know that (most) onesies are actually made to slip down over the babies shoulders and off that way instead of over the head? Thats why the shoulders are made the way they are.

Also I am the mother of a CHAMPION spitter and I am here to tell you that eventually it ends. Hers got better around 6 months. Good luck! I know it can suck. ๐Ÿ˜‰
