Ask to see a FULL wedding album. End to end, the whole day, every picture they took.
We loved one photographer and were going to sign a contract and last minute we asked to see a full album. I can’t tell you how awfull 99% of the photos were. They were just snap shots which anyone with a camera and no expericnce could have taken. So lessoned learned, anyone can show you 30 good photos from multiple weddings but can they actuall capture the whole day?

I wish wedding bee had a “like” button.
So true… see a full gig.

The first thing we did was ask to see a full album. You don’t want 30 good shots and 900 shots of landscape.

GREAT ADVICE!!!! I never would have thought to do that. I’ve been looking at a few photgraphers Facebook sites and I never considered that they only put their best photos up. THANKS!

Absolutely. I started asking the photogs for a full day of shots from a “typical wedding.” One photographer, who we almost went with, sent me them, and they looked so freakin amateurish (for about 3500 for the package!), while their “selected prints” had looked so nice on their website. Definitely made our choice to go with the other photographer easier!

Our photographer didn’t even give us a chance to ask to see a full album, he offered it to us right away. He even went to his computer and pulled up a bunch of unedited images from our friends’ wedding that he did back in August.
