Are you currently ovulating?  When was your last period?

I’m in somewhat of a similar boat.  I got my first non-pill period on October 14 and had sex when my app said I was ovulating.  Of course, I just came off the pill, so I haven’t even had a chance to see if my periods were regular.  Therefore, I’m probably not ovulating.  I was going off the pill to regulate so we could start trying in February.  We decided to try just this one month, then we have to put things on hold until February since my sister is getting married in October of next year.  I know the odds are slim, but we are both SO hoping to have some good news in two weeks even though I am very cynical about it.  My OB wants to test for endo, so I am going in to TTC with a bad attitude.  My breasts hurt like crazy.  Darling Husband says they are huge (they are huge already) and hard.  I know it is just wishful thinking…but it is most likely real ovulation and not pregnancy.  I have been on the pill since 18 and am now 28, so I don’t remember what “real” AF symptoms are…maybe taking a pregnancy test (in your case) once a week or get blood drawn to be sure?  I would recommend boob massage (lol, that sounds funny), but it might make them hurt worse if tender.  I have read on the boards that breast tenderness, without being preggers, is a sign of higher progesterone.

For the long term, pre-pregnancy, my MD recommended laying off the caffeine and taking vitamin E. Before I got pregnant, I was having ridiculous breast soreness and swelling (they were HARD) about 6-7 days before my period and lasting about 2 days in. It was seemingly random–one month it would be horrible and the next, not so bad…on an off for about a year.

Not sure if it helps but the difference when I got pregnant was my breasts were super tender but my nipples were in so much pain, too. It hasn’t been constant but was really bad from weeks 3-7. I haven’t really figured out what to do but did start wearing a comfortable, worn out bra to bed to keep them in place and to prevent fabric from rubbing.

@beautymyth:  What did your doc say about hypothyrodism and its effects on your cycle?  I’m curious because I was recently diagnosed but didn’t feel like I really got any info about it.
