something with her dogs photos in it?  What about a photobook of just her dogs?

For Christmas, we had our dogs photographed professionally (by my brother at the studio that he works at) and we gave a huge framed photo of them to our parents.  I swear my mom was all tearing up. ;D  The only photos that are out and about in our house are our dogs pics!

My fsil has a purse that she loves — it has a picture of her pomerainian on it ! She takes it with her everywhere.  I’m not sure where she got it.

I have chihuahuas and as much as I love them and treat them lke kids, I am not a fan of most breed=themed stuff.  Maybe my favorite chihuahua gift was a pair of socks with them on it, or a ctesy notepad (i.e. cartoonish).

I think a cute dog carrier/purse or collar/leash may be nice.  Or one of those Juicy "My dog’s cuter than your dog" tee shirts.

I love the professional pet picture idea.  As a pet owner, I would be ecstatic to get a framed photo/painting/poster as a gift.  Pro pics are expensive though and getting some cute digital shots of her and her dogs and making it into something is pretty awesome to get.

Here’s one of their pics…

I say you tell her you’re going to dogsit her dogs while she gets pampered or something and take them for some pics!!! =)

yeah, i’m a huge dog fan, but the traditional breed themed stuff usually isn’t that great… it’s the same headshot on everything, with the little curly script underneath. :/

i definitely recommend etsy, however! especially those felted dogs… wow.

also try a website called in the company of dogs… they have dog stuff that’s not cheesy. 🙂

My sister’s boyfriend once gave her a clock with a picture of her dog printed on it. I wish I knew where he got it, but i’m sure you could search for it. it’s a company that will print whatever picture you want onto the face of a clock (so could be a gift for non-dog lovers, too, of course). it turned out really cute and was more practical than a lot of dog-lover gifts.

I agree with vivian, some of the breed-themed stuff is a little cheesy.

Re: the suggestion for professional pet photos, you can also have an existing photo turned into a sketch. We did that once for an aunt and uncle for Christmas. I’ll have to see if I can find the link.

What about a donation to the Humane Society or something similar? Or some treats for her dogs (the homemade kind)? Since she is into the environment, I think you should take that into consideration, i.e. get her something that is sustainable and biodegradable. I’m not trying to say that she will throw your gift out, but it may end up in a landfill years from now.

i’m giving my bms custom stationery. bellabludesigns (on etsy) makes custom doggy notecards (she’ll put whatever dog you want on there) — check her out! she’s really nice!
