My father passed away when I was 8 years old and my mother passed away when I was 21 so my brother-in-law will be the one to walk me down the aisle and stand in for the father/daughter dance, but I’m not sure what song we should use!
Most of the songs that I see online all have to do with fathers and daughters (of course) and since he’s not my brother by blood, I don’t want it too mushy, but still sweet.
He’s been the male role model in my life for quite some time now so I do want it special.
Also, what song did you/are you having play for the bouquet toss?

I’ll Stand By You – Chrissie Hynde/The Pretenders
we didn’t do a bouquet or garter toss

Is there a certain type of music you prefer?
I think ‘What a wonderful world’ is an all-around good song for first dances!

These songs are more generic about love and memories- not fathers.
My Wish – Rascal Flatts
Because You Loved Me – Celine Dion
The Way You Look Tonight – Frank Sinatra
Landslide – Fleetwood Mac
Have I Told You Lately – Van Morrison or Rod Stewart
Wind Beneath My Wings-Bette Midler
Have I told you Lately-Van Morrison
Perhaps Love- John Denver
An alternative choice would be to dance to a song or an artist that your father loved (can anyone in the family help you with that?) or something that was popular when you were born.

Thank you everyone!
Those are a lot of really good suggestions!
I like all different types of music. I mainly listen to R&B and 60s & 70s rock and funk (very different, I know haha)
Thank you! My dad didn’t necessarily have a favorite song, he was just a big fan of Led Zepplin which doesn’t exactly scream wedding lol

What style music are you into?
I met My biological father a few years ago and was getting married. His wife asked me to choose a song. I went with “here comes the sun” Beatles. For me it was sweet with out being mushy.
Or “all you need is love”? Im in a Beatles mood today, clearly.

I stumbled upon the song “You’ve Got A Friend” by James Taylor. My mother was a huge James Taylor fan. I almost forgot about that song, but when I heard the words, I remembered both parents used to sing that song to eachother.
What are y’all’s thoughts?
It’s a sweet song without being a song about being in love.
