@Molly2014:  I am so sorry. This is so very, very difficult.

I wanted to mention – I lived for 3 years in Japan, and get the cultural differences. I had some bad luck there and had to use the medical system a lot. Please be assured that they are very good and very thorough.

My brother had a brain injury a few months ago and the doctors told him he wouldn’t be able to walk for at least 6 months. He walked two days later. He developed 7th nerve palsy and they said he would need brain surgery or facial surgery or he would lose his eye. His brain repaired itself and he is almost back to normal. My brother is very healthy, eats very well and does a lot of excercise and he proved the doctors wrong. If the will is strong enough you can pull through a lot of things just on strength and determination.

Sending good, healing, and hopeful thoughts to you, your brother and your family. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for good results. I have no medical experience, but other bees are right, especially with brain injuries, miracles DO happen.

During Summer 2012, my Grandmother slipped on a curb and fell backwards, hitting her head. She then started bleeding into the brain, got brain damage, entered a coma, and we were told to come and say goodbye.

… miraculously, she got better. She is still brain damaged. Her short term memory has vanished now, as have her inhibitions. But it’s amazing what she still has.

The problem is that you don’t know how extensive the damage is, or if he is still bleeding internally. I can say, however, that his relative youth bodes well for his ultimate recovery, should he get there.

Keep us updated!
