Every Christmas I make buckeyes (chocolate covered peanut butter balls) and I use parafin cooking wax to make the chocolate smooth and so it will form to the peanut butter. I use 1/4th a bar with 4 bars of chocolate I think, just enough so the texture of the chocolate is smooth. It doesn’t taste like wax either and it’s fine to eat.

don’t use melts-use chocolate chips with some butter. you can keep reheating that via micro or double boiler.

I failed at trying to make cake balls for my engagement BBQ. The chocolate was not going on smoothly at all and it was just a disaster. I decided to drizzle the chocolate over the cake balls. It was delicious. J also preferred it that way. Said the chocolate all over was too overpowering.

Yeah, youre supposed to use shortening to smoothen the chocolate. I also just use the melting chocolate trays that go in the microwave. so easy!
