My 11.5 year old kitty is sick. He was fine earlier this morning, even did his morning ritual of meowing for food. Then, wham! Vomiting, listless, cranky and restless. He’s an indoor cat and has never had a health issue. I guess we’ll just have to ride it out the day and take him to the vet tomorrow.
Just looking for some support from other pet owners.

Hugs and a prayer for support! She is hopefully going to turn around, just get her to vet tomorrow. Did she eat something that didn’t agree w/her? Any houseplants around?
My dog when he was a puppy got sick once when he chomped on a plant (my 3 yo havanese).

Oh man! Both you and I will be taking a trip to the vet tomorrow morning. My cat peed blood again in the bathroom sink last night. We think it is another kidney infection. She had a bad case 3 years ago, but that time she was extra loud to warn us. This time she’s been acting normal except for the blood in the sink overnight. She does have a tendency to pee in the sink when she wants to warn us of something so we know there is definitely something off with her.
I hope your kitty feels better and good luck at the vet tomorrow.

@Baldor1…. 🙁 I’m sorry to hear about your cat!! Hope she is okay.
I went to work this morning and started calling around to vets. That’s when it really hit me that he could be very, very sick and I started bawling at work. He has an appointment in about an hour.
It was interesting to see the reactions of my colleagues: the pet owners and non-pet owners. The pet owners said “Go, go!! Take the rest of the day off, hope he’s okay!” The non-pet owner just looked at me blankly and said “Okaaaay….” that trailing long, type of “okay” that makes it seem like she thinks I am a drama-queen for leaving for my cat.

He’s at the vet. Seems like a bad time for cats! Just saw another bee who has a sick cat. 🙁
They believe he has a urinary blockage. He’s there right now for x-rays, blood work and to have a catheter placed to empty his poor little bladder. I hope it’s just that and not kidney stones or worse.
Thank you all for the positive words. I’ll keep you posted!

@Birdie Love: I hope your kitty comes home nice and healthy. The vet for mine thinks she has a bladder infection. They are running tests tomorrow and we should hear in a day or so. He thinks we’ll need to put her on antibiotics. She was not happy about the exam. I saw her hiss for the first time and I choked up hearing her cry in their lab. So upsetting to hear her in pain.
On a positive note, kitty made out like a bandit from the doctor visit. The doctor recommended we put her on an exclusive wet food diet. Right now, wet food is a treat for her, so beginning tonight she’ll be getting “treats” 3 times a day.

I hope both of your cats make full recoveries, @baldor1 and @Birdie_Love! I had to bring my cat into the vet yesterday because she swallowed floss (I posted in this forum too) and it has been so scary…people without pets really don’t understand! My cat is seriously like the light of my life. She is so sweet. It’s terrifying when they are sick. I can’t even imagine how it will feel when I actually have children!
