So sorry to hear that you lost your beautiful kitty. I too lost my cat 6 years ago now. She was also 15 years old. I loved her so much and still miss her terribly. I too felt guiltily because on her last day when she was unwell i wanted to stay home with her but i couldn’t get out of going to work. She was still alive when i came home, so i did get to say goodbye layer that night, but by that time i think she was unconsonscious. I was stilll living at my parents then, so they were home. Oh god. …..now I’m crying again!
Just know your kitty new she was truly loved. You gave her the best life possible and she thanks you for that. Think of all the good and happy times over the last 15 years that you shared together. Don’t feel bad for leaving her. Sometimes cats go and hide from their owners when they are beginning to pass. She may have felt happy that you didn’t have to witness it. Big hugs. Xx

VintageGirl1020 : Nothing anyone can say will make you feel better right now – I know because I lost my baby kitten in September last year and he wasn’t even yet a year old. He was my world and one night he was hit by a car…the sudden loss was almost too much to bear.
But I just wanted to let you know that us Fur Moms and Dads know how you feel and everyone’s losses are felt and understood by all of us. The first two weeks are always the worst. It gets better little by little from there…just remember it’s okay to cry, and your baby will always live in your heart. Sending hugs and healing vibes your way. xxx

VintageGirl1020 : I am so sorry for your loss 😥 We just had to put my 2 1/2 year old baby boy kitty down on Saturday. I’m struggling with guilt over what we could/should/would have done differently even though I know logically we made the right choice. I guess my point is (even though I’m feeling guilty too, for different reasons), you loved and cherished her, and you did the best you could with what you had. She won’t hold it against you, and you shouldn’t either.
Your kitty knew you loved her, and she still loves you! She’s healthy and happy and not in pain anymore. I wish I had more eloquent or comforting things to say, but just know, you’re in my thoughts. Losing family members is hard.
