(Closed) My Center Stone Chipped :(

    Wear it anyway.

Replace the center stone with conviently cheap moissanite and hold onto the original as a keepsake.

Wear a placeholder until I can afford to fix the new one so no more damage occurs.

Stop being a baby and just get the whole new ring which is free but heart breaking :(

Keep the whole ring as a keepsake and get a different one so you don't lose any of the original.

if you don’t want to send it in I would take it to a jewler and have them look at it. They will usually look at the ring for free and tell you wether or not it chipping more is likely.

If it isn’t likely I would just keep it as is and when you can afford to get a new center diamond do it then. but you need to be careful if there is a crack in your diamond you could loose the whole thing and that would be terrible.

@HoneyBunnyBride13:  You could keep the ring, put it up in a safe or something since you love it so much! Get a loose moissanite or asha (which depending on size you could stick under 200 dollars!) You could even be under 100, then get a setting to put it in on ebay for again under 200 dollars!

A Round hearts & arrows Asha at .50 carat is $98!!

    A Round moissanite at .50 is $95!!

& Here are some on sell on ebay! They have great feedback & you can always get them checked out by a jeweler to make sure they are everything the seller says they are.

I severly bent a ring my Fiance gave me (not ering) and it was not fixable. I purchase an identical version and kept the original as a keepsake. I would keep the first stone, and get a moissanite set in it. If someday you decide to replace the whole thing than that option is still out there, but I think you’ll prefer to wear the exact setting he gave you in the meantime, even if the center stone has been replaced.

ETA: I have considered resetting the original stone (which is not damaged) and the stone from the replacement ring in a new ring or as earrings in the future.
