It’s missing something, the origional dress had that band that made it pop without the band it looks a bit bare. But it is really cute i’m a big fan of tulle. 🙂

I’d add the belt for sure.  Also, the reason you’re not getting as much volume is because in the picture, they have a crinoline underneath.  So that’s easily fixable!  I personally like the wide ribbon belt with this dress, and that’s super easy an inexpensive.  A couple of details can really make the difference!

@MariContrary:  +1

A crinoline will give you the fuller princess skirt that you’re looking for, and it’s a very easy fix to make.  And once you start to accessorize with jewelry, cute shoes, and a veil, the look will really come together 🙂

I’d get a crinoline to wear underneath and a belt.

I think it’s cute! I would add a crinoline to make the skirt more voluminous, and definitely replace the sash. You could get a better-quality silk sash, or a crystal-embellished sash.

@MrsYoshida:  You’re going to look adorable when it’s all said and done!  And the dress is really pretty 🙂  Here’s a really good example of all the different kinds and shapes of crinolines – http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-ALL-White-Bridal-Wedding-Full-Crinoline-Petticoat-Skirt-Slip-Inside-dress-/380646763082?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DMRU-11450%252BUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D390408834738%26ps%3D54

You basically pick the shape you want the dress to be (within reason) and pick the matching crinoline.  CQ03, CQ06 or CQ20 are the ones that are closest to the original dress shape.  Think of it as stuffing for the skirt!

The belt should be pretty easy, look at something like a double faced satin so it’ll be nice on both sides.  The accessorizing is the fun part.

Which site did you order your dress from?

If you haven’t found a crinoline yet, consider getting a hoop skirt instead. It will give you the poofy shape you’re after, but they are much easier to move in because you don’t get your legs tangled in layers and layers of tulle ruffles. Hoops come in a ton of sizes and shapes. I ordered mine on ebay and it was about $25.
