Yep. It’s dead. Kaput. Irretrievable. I’m pretty tech-y and I’ve tried everything I know, yet nothing.
It had on it my (finished but not yet printed) programs, day of ceremony schedule, inspiration/hairspiration pics, signs, instructions for my DIY seaglass candy favors, my DIY waterbottle labels, and a whole bunch of other wedding stuff that I will probably realize is gone sometime soon. Plus all my bookmarked links to sites and posts with wedding info that I needed.
Guess I get to start over. =( My wedding is less than 7 weeks away. =( The one good note is that our original ceremony script had at least been uploaded to google docs, so we don’t have to write it all over again. I’m so thankful for that.
Side note, if anyone knows of a template out there for accordian-style wedding programs, let me know. I don’t really have the energy (or the computer) to design them from scratch all over again. Sigh.

Oh no! This is awful. Do you have access to emails you’ve sent to people with bits and pieces of information in them?
Here are some links about accordian programs:
Wish I could do more to help!

Aw I’m so sorry this happened to you! Mine died this Monday but luckily I had most of the stuff on my work computer as well. I couldn’t imagine losing it all 🙁

UGH that’s terrible. Have you tried a hard drive rescue service???

If this makes you feel any better, you are NOT alone.
While freaking out upset because I found out that the army moved my Fiance deployment date up…. I tripped and fell, palm down onto the keyboard of my laptop.
The harddrive was ruined and I too lost all my stuff last night.
I have it with my guys here at work (I work in Tech… but I’m not techy) but they say it does not look good.
So not only did I loose all my wedding stuff, all my photos, music and everything else on there.. I now have no laptop to Skype with Fiance on while he is deployed.
I’m sorry it happened to you and I hope you are able to recover some of your stuff :((

@Oneeleven: oh man you too? I wish this hadn’t happened to us!!!
@Keltaena: Thanks for those. They’re helpful!
@everyone, the hard drive can’t be rescued, sadly. I did have it backed up from a few weeks back but nothing recent (kicking myself here). Oh well.

Totally happened to me too a couple of months ago. I had to get all of my guest’s addresses AGAIN. I was pissed. I learned my lesson though- always back up your files!

Wow, this really sucks. Unfortunately it is too late for you all but for future, sign up with dropbox. I save all my files there as well as googledocs. Then it can be retrieved from any computer. I have google chrome and fir fox for my browsers and all my faves are saved there, Again can be retrieved on any computer.
