Aww, your picture didn’t load!

Edit: Now it did.  For sure the paper is too thick, it’s sort of keeping the flower from being attached properly.  It’s a good try though.  I can’t laugh too much because I didn’t DIY much but I would probably fail.

Do you have a bone folder?  If not, get thee to a Michael’s and pick one up, they are a total life saver for these flowers!  I am in the middle of a million of these, I use craft glue on the centers of one petal at a time, then hold it closed with a bobby pin until its dry, then glue 2 together and so on.  I’ve found that gluing 5 petals together was too hard, so my flowers have 4 petals to keep me from going too crazy.  The not-so-sticky post-its work well, or even just use one as a template to cut squares from pretty paper.  Keep going, you will have gorgeous ones in no time!!

Edit- those are really cute in your pic, they made me crack up remembering my first ones!

i just think the paper is too thick so i won’t say fail πŸ˜€ and perhaps use a scoring tool… but you’re better than me i definitely wouldn’t try to make it πŸ˜€

Holy frusterations, Batman! I totally second the paper you used was too thick. I tried to make large scale cranes using leftover scrapbook paper… uh, same problem. Tearing and ripping at the folds. Thanks for sharing though! Not every DIY is easy and not every one is an instant success, despite what a lot of the more crafty bees seem to put out.

Lol your flower looks better than mine would have, if I attempted this project!!  Practice makes perfect, I’m sure the ones you make with better paper will be lovely πŸ™‚

It happens to the best of us. After several DIY fails, I enlisted the help of my sister, who took over as “Super-Crafty Sister”/DIY Manager. I knew I didn’t have the skills, but I knew who did! πŸ™‚
