I’ve also been following your story, and I’m so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I’m so glad you were able to be with him, and that he was able to go in the manner he wanted…at home, surrounded by family. HUGS!

Your story brought tears to my eyes. It is truly a blessing that you were able to spend his last moments with him. I lost my mom two and a half years ago and a year ago, I lost the man I’ve always knows as a father figure to Cancer. Planning my wedding without them has been no fun at all but I find peace in knowing they’re both looking down on me.

It sounds like he went exactly the way that he would have chosen to. There is great value and dignity in that, and you, your sisters, and the rest of your family should feel comforted by the fact that you were able to give him that. You and your family are in my thoughts.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I loved that he had a “Victory Lap”- what an amazing attitude! He must have been a great man.

I am so sorry for your loss.
You & your sisters did it so right. and I love that there was some tailgating at the funeral home: I bet those guys were sharing some great stories about your Dad.
It sounds like the world was lucky to have him in it, if only for a short time.

I am sorry for your loss, but I am so glad you made it time! I was worried for you after your other thread.
I know this is little comfort to you, but my Daddy passed a little over three weeks ago and from the way you talk about your Daddy and the pictures you posted, they seemed to have a lot in common. If you ever want to talk or just lament the fact that he’s gone now, please don’t hesitate to PM me.

I’m so so sorry for your loss, but I’m so glad you made it on time.
As a lot of bees said in your previous post, it was priceless for you to be there, he’s in peace now and as bad as it might sound, what a wonderful way to die, at home, surrounded by family.

It was a wonderful way to die indeed. We were so good to him and honored his wishes. He probably didn’t deserve us, but we loved him wholeheartedly regardless. He was a character and very memorable.
Paigey, I probably will be PMing you in the future.
I would have had a wedding in one month, and so glad I cancelled it. That’s the last thing I’d want to be dealing with at this time.
