Is there an associate minister at your church that could do that part of the ceremony?

Could you and your Fiance walk down the aisle together?  Or maybe just walk alone?  I don’t think that it would look right for your dad to walk you down, ask who gives this woman, answer himself, and then go up to the altar.

My friend’s dad (my Pastor) officiated her wedding. He walked in with her and an Associate Minister did the whole “who gives this Bride” and her dad assumed his position then.

@eloquence08:  I did a search for “father is officiant” and your 2-year-old thread popped up. What have you decided?

My dad is a minister and I know he really wants to perform our ceremony, but I too am a little concerned about how he can pull of this dual role.

I’d love to hear more about how you’re handling it!

Thanks!
