HUGE UPDATE AND ITS NOT GOOD. THERE WILL BE NO REMOVAL FROM SCHOOL. ONLY ONE GIRL IS BEING SENT TO ISS. SHE ASKED THE PRINCIPAL TO TELL MY DAUGHTER AND ME THAT SHE HAS NOTHING TO FEAR BY COMING BACK TO SCHOOL, THE OTHER GIRLS AND BOYS INVOLVED WERE GIVEN A STERN WARNING.
THE MOTHER OF THE GIRL IS IN GEORGIA, THE OTHER PARENTS WERENT EVEN CALLED AND THE GRANDMOTHER WHO IS SUPPOSE TO BE WATCHING HER STATES THAT SHE WILL PICK UP HER GRANDDAUGHTER FOR A FEW WEEKS TIL EVERYTHING BLOWS OVER. ALL THE GIRLS AND BOYS INVOLVED STATED MY DAUGHTER RAN UP TO HER AND STARTED THE FIGHT, EXCEPT FOR ONE AND SHE SAID THAT IT WASNT MY DAUGHTER, SHE CONFESSED THE OTHER GIRLS WERE TAUNTING HER AND ASSAULTED HER. LET ME STATE THAT SHE ONLY CONFESSED WHEN THE PRINCIPAL THREATENED TO CALL HER PARENT.
THE SCHOOL SAYS THEIR INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETE, THE GIRL HAS BEEN PROPERLY PUNISHED AND THE OTHERS HAVE THEIR WARNING. MIND YOU THEY HAD A WARNING LAST WEEK AND LOOK WHERE THAT GOT US.
I ASKED FOR A REFERRAL TO ANOTHER SCHOOL IN THE DISTRICT SINCE MY DAUGHTER DIDNT FEEL SAFE AND SHE SAID DENIED BECAUSE THE SITUATION WAS HANDLED. SO MY DAUGHTER CANT TRANSFER TO ANOTHER SCHOOL.
I TOLD THE PRINCIPAL, IF THATS THE ONLY ACTION YOUR TAKING, THAT IT WASNT ENOUGH BECAUSE DEATH THREATS AND PHYSICAL ASSAULTS WARRANTED MORE PUNISHMENT THAN A WARNING AND IN SCHOOL SUSPENSION FOR ONLY ONE OF THEM.
I TOLD HER THAT IF THERE WAS ONE MORE INCIDENT I WAS GOING TO SUE THE SCHOOL FOR NOT MAKING IT A SAFE PLACE FOR MY DAUGHTER AND THAT I AM GOING TO PURSUE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST ALL OF THEM REGARDLESS IF THERE IS ANOTHER INCIDENT.

@TexasSpringBride: Phuck that sue now!!!! I would seriously take all their asses to court!!!!
My blood pressue just went up for you!!! Can you go to the local media??
Uh, I would be calling the press. All and any local and state news that would listen. That is INSANE. I get the whole them versus her word thing can be a problem but when she had to go to the doctor because they injured her, that HAS to say something. And to not let her trasnfer?!?! I am so angry for you!

@TexasSpringBride: Take it to the MEDIA make a BIG BIG stink. My mom always told me and I stand by “the squeaky wheel gets the oil!” Know you have the support of a lot of the bees!!!!

@TexasSpringBride: Holy crap, she was in the hospital because they assualted her!!! It doesn’t matter if they think it what was provoked or not (obviously we know it wasn’t)…the matter is that she was injured and someone should act on that.
What do you need in order to press charges? It seems to me that the school can’t have total control of a case that is very clearly criminal (seems very unfair and backwards). I would take it to court. These kids and their parents need to know this crap won’t be tolerated. I think you could also take their parents to civil court for medical bills, etc…

Its no freakin wonder kids can get away with so much crap. There isnt anyone who is willing to dish out consequences for behavior. Obviously not the parents, obviously not the school.
The girl had no prior disciplinary actions on her record except for these two incidences of assault so they felt that giving her In School Suspension was significant enough as punishment.
Do these kids have to kill someone before they get the message? I called my daughter and at home to tell her what happened and she said, you cant force me to go back to that school I will not go.

@TexasSpringBride: I don’t blame her poor thing!

I in NO WAY am siding with the school and saying that they are handling this correctly BUT I would try to solve this at the district level before going to the media. The principal might not have the power to get your daughter into another school and/or doing more CYA before thinking of the child (which is totally wrong).
Also like someone mention before, your daughter may not want that kind of publicity. There are stupid people out that who will be quick to make stupid comments online that wrongly attack your daughter and I would hate for her to have to go through that as well.

@TexasSpringBride: I’m so angry for you! It’s f-ing ridiculous what children are able to get away with in schools! Take it to the media now…you’ve done everything else possible.

If this was grown people, and a man had assaulted a woman I would hope he would be arrested, if it was women ganging up on a lone woman Im assuming they would be in jail.
I just got off the phone with my attorney. She is writing a grievance to the school now. She is also sending a letter to the superintendent that states that we are not satisfied with the outcome and that my daughter is still in fear for her safety. We are asking for further action.

Just read this entire thread. Not a parent, but wishing you and your daughter the absolute best.
Jesus. This is the stuff that scares me about having kids. I’ll be praying for you.

Holy crap! This whole situation is so crazy! I cannot believe that no one is taking this more seriously!
Personally, I would contact the local news media and give them the information and timeline you have laid out here. This it toally unacceptable. Other parents need to know how incompetent the school and police force are being. If I heard that this was happening at my kid’s school, even if it was not anyone I knew, I would get as many other parents involved to get something done. This is out of control! Maybe some bad press would light a fire under their butts.
Also I see nothing wrong with encuraging her to carry pepper spray.
Please don’t quit fighting. Can you request a meeting with all of the parents/gaurdians of the other kids involved? Show them the photos of the bruising?
I am so sorry. I really hope things turn around soon.

I WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I…
A) GOT HER PUT IN ANOTHER SCHOOL (I worked for a school district in N DFW) and the principal has the authority to make the decision…heck you can put in a transfer request at any time and the schools BOARD approves it…NOT THE PRINCIPAL)
B) Had them take further action on the kids (regardless if it takes MEDIA attention, taking them straight to COURT, or GOING to a BOARD MEETING to make your CASE HEARD)!
