Uh, I would be calling the press. All and any local and state news that would listen. That is INSANE. I get the whole them versus her word thing  can be a problem but when she had to go to the doctor because they injured her, that HAS to say something. And to not let her trasnfer?!?! I am so angry for you!

@TexasSpringBride:  Holy crap, she was in the hospital because they assualted her!!! It doesn’t matter if they think it what was provoked or not (obviously we know it wasn’t)…the matter is that she was injured and someone should act on that.

What do you need in order to press charges? It seems to me that the school can’t have total control of a case that is very clearly criminal (seems very unfair and backwards). I would take it to court. These kids and their parents need to know this crap won’t be tolerated. I think you could also take their parents to civil court for medical bills, etc…

I in NO WAY am siding with the school and saying that they are handling this correctly BUT I would try to solve this at the district level before going to the media.  The principal might not have the power to get your daughter into another school and/or doing more CYA before thinking of the child (which is totally wrong).

Also like someone mention before, your daughter may not want that kind of publicity.  There are stupid people out that who will be quick to make stupid comments online that wrongly attack your daughter and I would hate for her to have to go through that as well.

@TexasSpringBride:  I’m so angry for you! It’s f-ing ridiculous what children are able to get away with in schools! Take it to the media now…you’ve done everything else possible.

Just read this entire thread. Not a parent, but wishing you and your daughter the absolute best.

Jesus. This is the stuff that scares me about having kids. I’ll be praying for you.

Holy crap! This whole situation is so crazy! I cannot believe that no one is taking this more seriously!

Personally, I would contact the local news media and give them the information and timeline you have laid out here. This it toally unacceptable. Other parents need to know how incompetent the school and police force are being. If I heard that this was happening at my kid’s school, even if it was not anyone I knew, I would get as many other parents involved to get something done. This is out of control! Maybe some bad press would light a fire under their butts.

Also I see nothing wrong with encuraging her to carry pepper spray.

Please don’t quit fighting. Can you request a meeting with all of the parents/gaurdians of the other kids involved? Show them the photos of the bruising?

I am so sorry. I really hope things turn around soon.

A) GOT HER PUT IN ANOTHER SCHOOL (I worked for a school district in N DFW) and the principal has the authority to make the decision…heck you can put in a transfer request at any time and the schools BOARD approves it…NOT THE PRINCIPAL)

B) Had them take further action on the kids (regardless if it takes MEDIA attention, taking them straight to COURT, or GOING to a BOARD MEETING to make your CASE HEARD)!
