So, here I am. MOB addicted to the weddingbee and I have not posted many things because I feel like the bee is really for brides. After reading the many wonderful things you have to say to one another I wanted to share the story of how my beautiful daughter found her dress.
The first shopping day, back in October was bittersweet for me. My daughter had invited me, her sister, her grandmother and her step mother to go wedding dress shopping with her. While I like her step mother, I felt like she should not have been included, but I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to upset my daughter. I was kind of hurt and angry that my daughter wanted her step mother to go along, I thought that if she did find her dress, it was a moment that should have been just for mother and daughter. That might sound selfish, but it’s just the way I felt at the time.
We went to two bridal shops and the day was actually enjoyable. My daughter thought she had found THE dress, but she wanted to think about it. I knew it wasn’t the dress.
A couple of weeks later, my daughter and I were spending the day together when I asked her if she really thought that dress was the one and she just shrugged her shoulders. I asked her if she wanted to go try on a couple of different dresses and she said “sure.” Well, we went and she did find the dress of her dreams that day and it happened exactly how I always imagined it would…Just my beautiful daughter and me 😉
We went together for her first fitting today and when she was standing there taking my breath away, she looked at me and said “If I had gone with that other dress, just look at what I would be missing.” And of course I started crying. Thanks for letting me tell my story.

So pretty! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one before. I love the one shoulder.

That’s so pretty and I’m glad it worked out the way you wanted with just the 2 of you =) I wanted to find mine with just my Fiance there but my grandmother was along with us and that was just as good for me.

Aw, from one MOB to another I totally understand! And your daughter is so beautiful as well as her dress. How wonderful that you got to have that moment too. We didn’t get that because of other family events the day we went shopping and I’m sorry for my daughter as well for me. She really wanted me to cry when i knew it was ‘the one’ (and as a Mom, you can sure tell!) but there was just too much other stress going on, darn.
Did you participate in that poll here a few months ago (has it been that long?) where they wanted to know how we thought they could improve this site? I put in comments that there needs to be an area for MOB’s. Not all of us out here are trying to make it ‘our’ day and plenty of us like you and me are so enthused and want other people to share the excitement with but it really is just for brides here.
