I don’t mind candy buffets, but I’ve never actually seen one at a wedding. I don’t hate birdcage veils, but I think they are overused and only work for half the people who wear them.

I hate the cutesy weddiing photograph trend -props and fake mustaches and people jumping in the air and “Fauxto” booths! I just find it ridiculous and so contrived.

I do have one thing that I hate on:

Birds, every time I see a cartoony little feathered bird/bird silhouette I want to step on it.

I like live ones, in nature, but I also dislike caged birds – I just want to set them free.

hahah I’ve never been to a wedding with a candy buffet (going to one this summer though) but while I love love love candy (sugar addict lol) I don’t think I’d enjoy a candy buffet because I prefer to be a pig in private and would have a hard time staying away from that area of the room haha. So no candy buffet for us. I’ll just load up on candy from the bulk barn and set out a buffet for myself at home ๐Ÿ™‚

@Ms. Mini – “Birds, every time I see a cartoony little feathered bird/bird silhouette I want to step on it.” – made me crack the heck up.

Thanks for making me laugh!

Lol! A candy buffet was a must for us. My Daddy requested a candy buffet and said that he would be more than happy to pay for it. I felt that since he was footing the bill for that and pretty much everything else, why not let him have it.

The only problem I have with his request is that he is a type 2 diabetic and he shouldn’t be eating candy. And… the main people that will be running to the buffet will also be type 2 diabetics.

I love how I’ve never seen any of the following IRL:

candy buffet, cupcake tower, birdcage veil, bird/peacock theme, mismatched Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (different colors/patterns), photobooth w/ props, moustaches etc., choreographed/crazy first dance, etc etc etc

and yet these things are considered “played out” or overdone or whatever.

Conclusion: we all spend far too much time looking at wedding crap on the internet.

Well we had one.  It wasn’t my intention to have one but it happened. You see, I wanted to have ice cream and wanted to have toppings in clear vases/jars. I was thinking; gummy bears, M&Ms, peanuts, oreo cookie crumbs, cherries, etc etc.  So I told my mom that this would be her task to collect the toppings and the containers.  I sent her some photos of candy tables so she could get an idea.  Well she got the idea on the candy.  Not the choices I would have picked for toppings but I wasn’t going to complain!  And neither did our guests!  They enjoyed the candy on their ice cream and alone ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m so with you on this VM! And I’m with whoever said birdcage veils…I shudder when I see them.

I was actually at a friend’s wedding who had the candy buffet, and we were some of the last to leave. There was SO MUCH CANDY leftover! I felt terrible for the bride…she had to take it all home, and they certainly weren’t eating all of that candy on their own. They ended up throwing most of it away.
