I’m a full time student at the university where my husband works. I try to schedule my classes so that I’m only there a couple of days a week, and have classes all day. That way I can carpool with him and not have too much time sitting around campus.
The other day, rain was forecasted. I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to that, and forgot to bring my umbrella. DH keeps a big golf umbrella in his car, which he brought to his office.
I went to my first class, and when I got out, rain was pouring down. I didn’t know what I should do. I didn’t have another class for another couple of hours, so I was considering just waiting in the building where I was until it passed or it was time for Darling Husband and me to eat lunch together. I didn’t want to bug him while he was working, so I pulled out my iPhone to play a game and pass the time (couldn’t just walk through it because I’d be soaked and I had electronics in my purse). DH had already sent me a text, asking me which building I was in because he was going to leave the office and come pick me up with the umbrella. I am so touched that he thinks about me while he’s working, remembers what time my class gets out, and is willing to take off to rescue me from the rain!
I’d love to hear your stories about things your SOs do to let you know they’re thinking of you.

mines also a rain story. one night i went for my usual walk and it started raining and then i realized i left my phone at home so i was waiting it out at a bus stop
about 15mins later i hear my husbands voice, he had been walking my usual route looking for me in the rain and didnt want to drive it in case he missed me. awwwh, he earned big brownie points from me!

I have been dealing with something called torticollis for 8 weeks… Basically it means I have a bad headache and I can’t move my neck (so nodding and turning from side to side)… It has also progressed into my collar bone area/shoulders…
So, there’s a LOT I can’t do! My Darling Husband has been taking care of me through it all…
The most recent example of that is tonight… He washed my hair in the shower for me because I can’t do that! I was in the shower thinking about how sweet it was for him to do that 🙂

@Jenlon: 8 weeks! I just looked up torticollis, and wow, I really feel for you. I’m glad you have your husband there to help you out with the things you can’t do right now.

such sweet stories! sounds like you all have gems 🙂
one of the many things that SO has done for me over the years… i used to go to university very close to where he lived at the time. some days i went very early in the morning, arriving at the station at 7:45am. he would surprise me by being there at the top of the stairs, with breakfast and coffee in hand, and met me just to give them to me and to walk the 15mins together to the uni 🙂

The other day my Fiance and I went to bed and I fell asleep immediately. I woke up to him coming into the the room and when I asked him what he was doing he said he just back from taking my car to put air in my tires. It was 1:30 am, he said he was laying in bed thinking about my four hour drive the next morning and wanted to make sure that I was safe. I thought it was so sweet and thoughtful and it meant a lot that he actually got out of bed at one am to do it.
