@dli:  I must admit I really like the first one! Beautiful colour – perhaps the skirt would have settled after being steamed?

Personally, I think the first dress looks beautiful, but I’m not seeing it in person, or on a human. Maybe that woud be different?

Oh yes, the first dress is totally lovely!   I don’t know what the original looks like though.    I agree that the second one looks like ruffles, not good

Well well well, what we have here? :p

If you have tried on the original, then you would know that the ruching is incorrect on that bodice 🙂  It is actually much more complicated than simple pleats.  There are multiple layers of different styles of pleats, with different exposure (area covered).

It took us 4 months of research and testing to figure out the internal layers and structure of the Gemma gown, and it is quite complicated actually.  Other shops can do it too – they just gotta put in the R&D hours to figure out.
