My center stone is a D (color was very important to me) and the only time I ever notice any yellow tints is on the side stones which are H-J or something like that.  But I still love my ring and I never pay any attention to yellowness.

Mine is a K and even though I love my ring I do notice the yellow 🙁 It became more obvious to me when we were shopping for diamond wedding bands because all the ones we looked at had whiter stones. I ended up specifically choosing diamonds of H-I color as opposed to higher quality ones so the color difference doesn’t stand out as much. My husband says he plans to upgrade the stone on my e-ring on a future anniversary.

My fiance proposed when he had been laid off and I just closed my business.  It was a really happy moment that was surrounded by a lot of sadness and uncertainty.  He proposed to me with a ring that was “I” in color and it had a slight yellow tint.  A few weeks ago we upgraded to an “F” and feel like it is more appropriate for the setting… like the stone that was meant to be in there.  I don’t recommend upgrading just because, but it was good timing for us and we feel it represents a new and better future for us.

Mine’s not bad, but not awesome. I forget what letter though.

Every once in a while I notice some yellow. I wonder if some jewelry places make the light make diamonds more yellow so you’ll go up a grade?!?!

If it bothers you, you should reset it in yellow gold since that makes it WAY less noticable.

I have an I coloured diamond but love it because I find it makes the stone look “warmer”. I am going to be sure to have G, H, or I stones for my wedding band though so it matches.

My K colored round solitaire (1ct) is a pretty light K… but every now and again it looks a touch warm. I LOVE it. It sparkles like mad, and I think the fire is richer in it because of the K color.

Mine is also an I1 clarity because of the one crystaline inclusion visible from the top of the stone but ONLY if you look really really hard. It basically looks like the thinnest clear line running across the bottom third of the stone. I dig it because only I look closely enough to know it’s there and it gives my ring personality.

I think the way to look at it is to know that there is NO other ring out there exactly like yours and that helps make it special.

Mine is a J and at times I can see the warmth.

But face up, I don’t see any yellow tint.

keekalena – your ring is so pretty! It looks like mine, except mine has a thinner band. 🙂

If it bothers you that much, a reset may be in order.  I’ve noticed a lot of antique stones put alongside rubies or sapphires really flatters the yellow tone.  Also, unplated white gold or yellow gold look great next to it as well.

I have a G set in yellow gold. Looks pretty white to me, especially against the yellow metal. It’s the color contrast, I think.
