They look so good – your photographer must have been fabulous and you did a great job laying everything out yourself!

Very nice.  My only comments:

– The many pages with the extra white space give the impression of the book being unfinished

– Mixing B&W photos with color photos on the same page.  It’s typically a nono when a pro lays out an album and distracting IMO

@kemi – Thanks so much for sharing your albums with us!  Your photographer did a fabulous job capturing SO many details.  Nice job setting up the albums as well.  My only feedback would be to reposition some photos so that faces are not in the middle of the creases (even if they are flat pages).  Great job!!!

@Kemi82Justice of the Peace:  I think it looks great.  Personally, I have a preference for dark backgrounds rather than white. The dark background makes pictures pop more and doesn’t draw the eye away from the picture like an abundance of white space around the pictures does. But that is a PERSONAL preference.

Mixing b&w with color photos didn’t bother me at all.  You did in a way that wasn’t jarring at all.

@Kemi82Justice of the Peace:  I will say that I got my book with the dark backgrounds. And I think I can see advantages to both white backgrounds and black backgrounds.  In the small books I did for my family, I loved the dark backgrounds. But I wish I had done a combination of pages in our large book, because the dark background seemed to make our pictures look a little dark on the larger pages.

@kemi – I bet you can’t wait to order your album and it shows up on your doorstep, eh?!

I’m curious… Does that company have the binding where the pages lay flat?

i ordered one from apple and it came out great. i wasnt for a wedding.

I picture quatlity does make a differnece when the photos are printed, but a lot of the pictures i had were pretty old, almost 10 years, but the ones that were newer were perfect.

@Kemi82Justice of the Peace:  I had to think about the accordian thing for a moment, but then I had an ‘aha!” and got it.  The company I went through had hinged pages, so they didn’t offer layouts where the pictures bleed onto another page. I wish I had seen your book before I ordered mine, because I really like that feature.

I used adoramapix.com for our album and while it shipped to my parents and I haven’t yet seen it, they both agree that it looks great and so much better quality than the MyPublisher books (what I used for parent albums). I wish I would have went with adoramapix for all of them. Also, mine arried with 2 missing pages and adorama’s customer service was amazingly helpful, I would not hesitate to order from them again.
