Hi bees,
Hope you are all having a good weekend!
I started working on my DIY Escort Card Display this weekend.
First, I ordered a set of 4 vintage shutters. 2 in a larger size and 2 in a small size. I went for shorter shutters since they will be sitting on a table.
I liked the really long shutters too, but I didn’t think it was appropriate for my reception space.
Anyway…
Here are the before and after shots. They were bright white when I ordered them so I spray painted them ivory, sanded through a few spots, and applied an antiquing glaze.
What do you think?? I would like to get a few opinions before I move on to the remaining 3!
Before:

After! (PS- this is one of the smaller ones)

@tksjewelry: Thanks!! I am probably going to find some pretty brown paper or cardstock and they will be pinned to the ribbon! That’s my next project! ๐

I should probably add that I am carrying a brooch bouquet and brooches are being used throughout my wedding.

I don’t think she has any left through. Just search for antique shutters and you will find plenty of options though!
