I finally finished all of our fabric pomanders! Yay! They will be on shepards hooks lining our aisle:) they were a labor of love, and a lot of work, but way worth it!!! π cut 3″ circles out of teal satin, glued into half then thirds, clipped with clothes pins, let dry, and pushed into styrofoam balls π then inserted wire into the ball to hold the chandeliers. And attached pearls too:) I used about 125-150 circles per ball.

Wow those are stunning! I hope that you are using them for both the ceremony and the reception. Curious as to how much fabric you used-and how long it took you to make them! Those chandeliers on the bottom are incredible too.

Ended up spending about $5 per ball! I found 12 yards of teal satin for get this-$11 at a yard sale!!!!! Jackpot! Then I got 6 3″ styrofoam balls for 50% off at joanns, a roll of pearls, and cristmas ornaments 50% off for $4 each. and the glue cost me the most! I followed tutorial by mrsprince π

@creativeplannertobee: I was thinking it would be a shame not to use the poms at the reception:( where could we incorporate them?

@BlueDiamondBride: So are there #6 of these? Can you use them as part of your centerpieces? Let me see if I can come up with a photo of another diy. If you get a wide enough vase, the crystal part of your pomander can go into the vase, with the pomander part sitting on top (as long as that is not too wide to fall into the vase too.) Hopefully you can see that there are crystal (strands) inside the vases too.
BTW-Did you use all 12 yds. of the fabric to make those 6? -If so, wow!

And a perfect example, of what I feel, is a DIY bride – it’s not all about saving money and short-cuts, it’s taking pride in creating an element of your wedding! Your Poms are LOVELY and obviously took some time… they’ll look that much more beautiful at your wedding π
