- Wedding: November 2012
There are a few costs in a wedding I find hard to swallow. Actually that’s not true. The whole cost of a wedding erks me a bit, but that’s not the point! The most unavoidably expensive parts of this wedding, have become apparent. A good photographer and flowers. I don’t know a pro photographer and want to spend the extra money getting a good one, so there is no wiggle room to be creative, save money or cut corners. Flowers on the other hand, I see a lot of chance to cut corners!
That makes me sound stingy right? Don’t get me wrong, I love flowers. I love it when my fiancé brings some home for me out of the blue. I love them in the house and I love the colours and smells, but when all is said and done they are only needed for one day, before they become obsolete or, taken away by a guest.
Sooo, I decided to see if I could get crafty. About a month ago I watched a youtube video of now to make your own bouquet and felt it looked do able and thought when the chance comes up I’ll give it a whirl. Fast-forward to today and picking up dinner at the supermarket I spotted some flowers that were reduced to next to nothing that were not far off the colour or the flowers I want to use. Given that they were only 99p I decided to use the opportunity to try this flower arranging out, therefore I give you the story in pictures below:
This is the dream which I found in a google search:
These are my results. Granted, they need a few more flowers to complete but I think its not bad for a first attempt and means that the idea of doing this for the wedding at a fraction of the price is real possiblity.
Let me know your thoughts!
