Here is my latest DIY wedding project. Been working on these with my bridesmaids, dying and punching coffee filters and I’ve about hot glued my fingerprints off!
The bases are Skurar candle holders from IKEA painted silver, and the matching Skurar plate, lovingly spray painted by my FH.
I’m really proud of these. My inspiration was Zipper 8’s lighting product which used to be on Etsy. Sadly they were $185 for a set of three and there was no way we could afford them.http://indulgy.com/post/IMzbm7WT52/coffee-filter-flower-centerpiece-zipper-lighting.
So I set out to make my own. Really happy with how they turned out!
Pictures 3 and 4 show them lit.

Did you go by a tutorial of kind or did you just wing it? Those look fantastic!

applecat: Thanks! I’m glad I surprised you!
LauraR: Purely winging it… I had a tutorial from RIT on how to dye the filters that was it. The rest was looking at the picture of what I liked and figuring out how to do it. I did the trial and error method.
One month until these babies are lighting up our reception! Bought the batteries today… almost needed a bank loan! That’s the downside of all the battery packs. The upside is I didn’t have to pay for flowers for the centrepieces!

I LOVE these! If our cake idea doesn’t work out, these might just bring Fiance around to my paper flower idea!
