Tarheelgurl:  I would say a little lighter on the eyeshadow. I would recommend ending the dark shadow a little lower and then a little highlight under your brow.

First, you’re beautiful! Also, the lighting in these pics may not be the best for assessing what it really looks like. But I think the makeup isn’t quite right. Your browa look a bit unkempt and dark In the makeup pic. Also, I think the color on your brow bone is very harsh. You appear to have some sort of shimmer/blush right on the tops of your cheeks that is sort of highlighting the hollows under your eyes and your nasolabial folds. If you apply it not as close to your nose it would be more flattering. I hope I don’t sound harsh. You are very pretty and all of this may just be lighting. Do you have a picture in more natural light?

Because of your skin tone, you need to lighten, brighten and gloss.  Let’s highlight those pretty chocolate eyes instead of drown them out!  A glossy lip is easy as well.

Tarheelgurl:  The colors are nice. As another poster said, stop the dark shadow lower on the lid and add a highlight shadow under the eyebrow.

Tarheelgurl:  I agree with the pp and I think you should add some fake lashes and add some mascara to your bottom ones too.

Lighten the eyeshadow and  shape your eyebrows. It will define your eyes.

Tarheelgurl:  I agree with PPs. Make it less of a smokey eye. Bring the dark shadow just into the crease of your eyelid and highlight above it. Also add some lighter shadow to the inner part of the lid. It’ll make your eyes more awake, and add a little mascara to the lower lashes to bring it all together. I use Jaclyn Hill makeup tutorials on YouTube all the time, she’s great!

are you into makeup? I would recommend going to Sephora or MAC or a counter where you love a MUA’s work and let them do your face, you can buy some things, and also get a better idea. I think they could also show you how to highlight and contour.

It looks like you only put one dark shadow on your eyes. You can’t see anything else.

I disagree that you need lighter colors because of your skin color. That’s nuts. You may want a smokey eye and thats FINE whether or not you have a darker skin tone (I do too!).

Also, will your brows be threaded or waxed to clean them up a bit so when you do them they will look more polished?

You are beautiful, but I would change the makeup a little. I agree with PP, lighten the eyeshadow, highlight under your brows, groom your brows a bit, mascera, and lip gloss.

ChicagoSLK:  why does she have to lighten or gloss just because of her skin tone? I’m not trying to start I’m just curious BC I’m a darker skin tone and I don’t find that You have to do that….

It doesn’t just have to do with her skin tone.  But the dark makeup doesn’t do her justice.

I would go to Sephora and have them show you techniques for makeup application, as well as products that will compliment your face.

Right now, it’s like the punched in the eye look. All black.
