It’s a work in progress but I finally have a working model of my table decor. Totally DIY, lemme know what you guys think.
By The Way Apologies in advance for bad pic quality; crappy cell phone camera, and the mess in the background; wedding has thrown up in my kitchen.

I could really use an opinion. MY FH didn’t give me much support when he walked in and saw this rather than our normal kitchen setup. IDK if i should scrap it all or what. Very Frustrated.

Don’t scrap it! I think it looks lovely, I think the branches need something else though, they seem a little dark. I can’t think what though!

Very pretty! No need to scrap anything! But I agree that the tree is not quite right. I don’t think it is full enough to have that tree look. I think more branches would look better. Get some vellum paper for your luminaries and then you will be set.

The numbers are veryvery faint–I was looking for the luminaries for a while before I managed to find it–you want those numbers to stand out enough so that people can see where they are going.

Very creative. I like it. Don’t scrap it

Thanks bees, I was really hurt when he came in and just kinda shrugged it off.
We’re on a super-super low budget, so if I want any decorations, I’m going to have to DIY it.
About the lunimaries, yeh, I know they look faint. I didn’t have the proper paper so I attempted the protoype on parchment paper from my kitchen. At least fo the prototype, to see it it’s functionable, it works.
About the trees, they came from my back yard, again, strictly a prototype. The bad picture quality fails to show the hanging little crystal things on it too. I was thinking of mebbe putting LEDs in the flowers. Not sure on that yet tho.

Very beautiful! I am really interested on a close up of the red candle holder!!!

So pretty! How much would you say the total per table would be! The table runners are so pretty! I think the tree is awesome, I’ve never seen that done before, how it’s holding up the luminaries…it’s like having a chandelier over every table. And chair covers on a low budget…how cheap did you find them?

The red/damask luminaries were very very simple and vey very inexpensive.
What I did:
Cut the bottom out of a water bottle (16.9 oz) and measures it around for ribbon length.
cut that length from the 2 in. damask ribbon, which is wired. Wired is the way to go in case they get smushed in transport or storage.
cut that length from the red 2.5 in. ribbon. This ribbon was the sturdier indoor/outdoor type, so it could stand up sturdier. then cut this ribbon in half length-wise.
hot glue the damask ribbon to the red, then hot glued the combined ribbon to the water bottle.
pour in a little bit of clay kitty litter. Just the clay chips kind, has no smell, just looks like rocks.
Drop in an led votive ( I prefer the LED because I know there is gonna be heavy drinking at my reception and I don’t want to start a fire!!
Aand Poof! all done.
Damask ribbon – 10cents ($3/9ft roll)
Red ribbon – 5 cents ($5/ 25yd roll
LED candle – 50cents (2/$1 at Dollar tree) Maybe could find cheaper, idk.
Kitty Litter – 5cents ($2.97 for 25lb bag @ walmart)
Hot glue – ? maybe 1 cent?
So less about 71cents per candle.

I must say I’m a HUGE deal shopper. That being said prices may vary.
Table runners – http://www.efavormart.com/taffeta-flocking-damask-12x10yards-white.aspx
For a 6ft table, i used 8ft of runner. With this fabric all you have to do is hem the edges you cut, so it’s very handy and much less expensive than the premade ones. They come in 10yd bolts for about 10$ each. 8ft runner cost was about $2.68. can’t beat that!
Tree/ Luminaries – The tree isn’t holding those up. We’re lucky that our venue doesn’t mind us hanging things. Those are actually hanging from the ceiling by fishing wire. WE have about 200 of the spheres and cones that are going to be over the dance floor and the tables. Thinking on replacing the light with a while led so it’s more lit up, not sure on that one yet.
Chair covers – Again, lucky shopper that I am found a lady on Craigslist who was selling things from her daughter’s wedding. I got 160 of them for $125, so basically 78cents each. It’s a great time to shop craigslist for this stuff because so many summer brides are selling their stuff!
Also got the napkins on craigslist. 200 of them for $65. I just think real napkins are much more elegant than paper ones.
Word to the wise though. Be cautious about buying stuff on craigslist, expecially things like this, hate to say it.. bedbugs… eww. We take anything we buy directly to the nearest laundromat and throw it in the dryers, just in case.
So for a total table cost (assuming it’s 6 ppl, like my test kitchen. As is:
Approx $25 per table. I’m guessing that’s a bit higher than the actual cost, because it’s hard to break down the cost of the materials into smaller parts. For example, I’m not totally sure how much ribbon it takes out of a spool, I just guessed.

Just called Office depot, they print black/white on vellum 8.5×11 sheets for 18cents a sheet. Will probably do that for the table number luminaries.

@jojabri: I think it looks great!
