So here’s the scoop. My honey is in Afghanistan, and wont be back until like 4 months before we’re getting married (sob). We didn’t have time to have engagement pictures taken before he left… so we don’t have any GREAT pictures to use for our STDs.
However, we do have this picture, which was taken when we were visiting Washington DC with his family (originally the Washington Monument was in the background, but I got rid of that because I thought it detracted). So what do you think of using this photo as a STD? It’s obviously not a perfect lovey-dovey photo of the two of us, and we’re bothing wearing sunglasses, but it’s about the best I could find of us together.
Also, what do you think of my design?
Or… should I just create a STD that eliminates any sort of photo of us all together?

I would only suggest blacking out the side of the picture the wording is on. Because its a little difficult to see the white lettering.
BUt other than that i think you did a great job!

What about more like that? I used a gradiant to darken up the left side a bit. I think it makes the text much more visible. I was having a problem with that… tried changing the color/font of the text, etc. But your right, it really came down to darken up the background a bit. I think it helps a lot… without looking too weird. Better you think?
Also I just noticed it says our date is 2012 and not 2013. But that is an EASY fix. 😉

I think the picture is fine! We decided to move our wedding up a year so suddenly we had no engagement pics yet and everything was turning dead for the winter! What are you putting on the back? I love the fonts but maybe if you just had the names and save the date on the front it would be easier to find a good spot so the letters stood out? We had good luck prinitng ours at Vistaprint, btw!

Glad you ladies like them. I like them… but then again, I made them, so you can never be to sure if it’s just your personal fondness for them (and particularly for the people in them) or if they’re actually nice looking! 🙂

I think it’s a great picture to use! I, personally, don’t like the faded corners of pictures, but they seem to be popular, so if you like it then I think it’s fine. And I can read the texxt much better on the second photo.

I really like that, the second option more than the first though.

Thank you ladies :). I think the vinginette helps me get away with the fact that I had to darken the left side of the photo–which is the only difference between the first and second photos–in order to make the text more legible. But I am SUPER excited about your overall enthusiastic responses about them. It makes me think maybe I just don’t like them just because they’re… mine. 🙂
