Finally! I’ve been working on my diy veil for a couple of weeks now. I made a very basic veil and then decided it needed some bling. I wanted a pearl trim and since i decided to hand-sew the trim on, its taken me a little longer than I expected. Also, i only worked on it for little bits at a time (while watching SYTTD : ) lol. The total cost? About 25$ for all the materials. Its fingertip length with a pearl trim and the comb is metal with some embellishment as you can see. Yay! I hope this is encouraging to any other brides who are thinking of making their own veils too!!

Ooh la la! Love it! I did a “rough draft” of my veil a few weeks ago too. It was definitely not as difficult as I expected.
Thanks for the inspiration!
PS – here’s the one I made

Great inspiration! I am making my own veil as well – and it is proving to be a very satisfying feeling 🙂 Do you have instructions and/or pictures on how you sewed on the edge?

Very nice 🙂
You did an awesome job!!!
I DIYed mine too, and it was quite time consuming to sew on the lace. I took it with me to my first fitting last weekend and the seamstress thought I paid $400.00 for it. I think next time I talk to her I will let her know if she has any brides that would like a veil for less than what they would pay in a bridal salon that she can give them my number.

So impressed. My mom and I are making my veil and I’m kind of dreading getting started!

Oh yay! It’s so nice to see other brides doing DIY veils, since I am too. Your comb gave me some nice ideas for mine. Thank you!
