Ok, so I decided to tackle my first DIY project for the wedding. My little wedding figures are inspired by the too cute cake toppers found on etsy. (I think a few bees have made these as well.)
I worked on these a few nights ago and I still need to
- finish up the arms (they are just taped right now)
- add buttons to my mr.’s jacket
- add earrings and gems to my dress
- add moss and flowers to the base
- possibly stain/sand in a few places to give it a more rustic look
- add our last name to the side of the base
- purchase a glass dome to go over them
These guys are about 8 inches tall from the base to the top of their heads.I tried my best to make my dress look like my dress. (but I think it need to work on it a little more)
I will continue to add pictures as they come together. We are planning just to keep these as decorations in the house. (FI loves them).
ETA: I am going to take more pictures because you cant tell on this one that FI’s tie is loose like a real tie. I HEART it.

Cute!! And I think I’ve said this before, but I love your dress!
Is your dress a secret from your FI? If so, are you hiding the figurines from him, too?

Im looking at them in the picture and I think im going to add some padding under the dress to make it fit better. I may even add a necklace.
I also dont have a clue what to do about arms. for right now they are just wooden dowels.
Who knows! This was my first attempt.

@Bubu82: It was a secret (sorta) he knew it was black and white and non traditional.
He didnt want to see the figures but changed his mind. He loves them. He is very sentimental, so he just loves the idea that Im making figures of us.

They are so adorable seriously!!
Dont put so much stress on yourself, remember its supposed to be Enjoyable! hehe!
You have totally inspired me! And for a rustic look maybe you coudl pain the wood a darker/walnut brown and then roughen it up with some sandpaper?!?! Just a thought, but I seriously love the way it is!
