Amazing! Wow girl I am impressed.
Amazing! Wow girl I am impressed.
@coffeegal85: oh yeah, I did leave that out–I used smashbox O-glo as a base for my cheek color (with a stiffling brush) and then just went over it with my bareminerals blush in fruit cocktail. Its very bright but worked well. Bareminerals is usually a no go with wedding make-up but the blushes are fine.
I love your earrings! Where did you get them?
You are drop dead gorgeous girlie! Thank you SO much for doing this. I think hair and make-up is what is sending me in a panic the most. I would love to figure out what I want ahead of time and not leave it up to someone. I haven’t had a chance to read this through entirely, but I’m glad you did this because your recap was beautiful!
ETA: I have those same exact hair extensions (brand–my hair is like J LO’s color so I bought lighter ones)… they are by far the most amazing ones out there!
Did I miss the eyeliner part?
Wow. Will you come do my make up for my wedding????
I was going to say no to hair extensions but yours look great. Do you have any before pictures of the length of your hair?
ah, thank you ladies!!
@Mrs.Firefly1: I really love those extensions too, super soft and durable! Again, I took those on my honeymoon and they are awesome + stay in place through dancing and heat
for the eye liner I just used MAC’s fluidline that comes in a pot (however, my sister loves the bobbi brown little pot liner and I want to try that next) with an angel brush and slowly but steadily did both eyes, I did them half way on the lower lash and blended toward the inner corner but made sure I blended with MAC’s pigment in vanilla to brighten it up
this was me on my honeymoon with them in for a different photo:
my hair is normally about 5 inches past shoulder length
ps. its hard to see with the orangey lighting but I was wearing MAC’s fabby lipstick with dervish liner in both of these photos, the same pair I used for the bridesmaids
You are stunning! Your makeup is flawless and your lip color is perfection on you. What a beautiful bride!!!
OMG the look you put together for yourself is absolutely AWESOME, and for you to share so much detail about what you’ve done is absolutely amazing! THANK YOU!!!
I have not gone through any make up trials yet but am scared to do so..I’ll have about 4 months to get my act together if I go it alone but this post of yours will no doubt save me many months of trying to figure things out.. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! 😀
@Heatherloveskenny: Thanks for the reveiw/tips!
I know this post is a little old but I had a few questions. Does MAC fix+ go on before/after moisturizer; before/after primer? Also, I’m not sure if I missed this somehow but what setting spray did you use? Thanks.
Thank you so much for this! I have just returned from the world’s worst make up trial, where the artist did NOTHING that I was telling her I wanted. I have had a nagging feeling that maybe I should just do my own, but have been afraid that it won’t look good in photos. After reading your experience I feel much better about the whole idea. It makes sense that something like this would give you a feeling of “control” on the big day. THanks for all the details! It really helps to hear from someone who has done it! And you looked so beautiful!
@noenyu: sorry for my late reply – but yes, from what I was taught, the MAC fix+ goes on before the moisturizer. I’ve done both though, I’ve put my moisturizer on first, let it set in and they sprayed fix+, I didn’t like it as much. I felt like it made the moisturizer just melt off my face.
ps. I just read over the OP again and I didn’t mean for it to sound like a know it all but I really have tried almost every product out there, I have complicated skin, my make-up almost never stays on and I’m super picky so my intentions were to just be as helpful as I could. But looking back on this post, I kind of feel vain too. Especially the photos I took of myself on my Honeymoon, what can I say? I was waiting for DH to get ready for the day
You looked fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!! Need to look into those extensions.
This is a great thread! I can’t see the pictures though, would anyone be able to repost them?
