I think ours is somewhere between $2000-$3000 so sounds good to me.

ours was 1500 for four hours and two hours for setup/breakdown. He was also our MC and he was practically the only DJ to speak english and vietnamese..which we needed. 550 is a great deal!

Our city isn’t as expensive as most, so a “pricey” DJ here is anything $1000-1500+. Our package is 6 hours for $645 and that’s using a bridal show discount AND I booked him forever ago so we saved $200 since his prices went up. 😉

I would definitely go with a venue recommended vendor. Sure you could hire a $300 DJ from Craigslist, but you can’t always trust their equipement or experience. You want oyour DJ to be as familiar as possible with your venue. Two of my very good friends booked DJ’s on price alone and they absolutely SUCKED. The DJ is a major part of your party and if he sucks, your party will too!

So, $550 is a very reasonable price!

Wow, some of these prices are shocking to me! I paid less than $300 for 4 hours.

Ours was 700 for 12 hours with a three hour gap in between ceremony and reception.  We got married in Chilliwack, so if you’re in Langley, that’s fairly apples to apples comparison.  I think you got a fair deal!

I think we paid $600 and he was a “friend”.

That isn’t too pricey at all. I paid 750 for ours which included music for down the aisle, dinner, reception and that is still considered cheap.

Ours was also $550 and we had him for 6 hours plus setup. I don’t think you overpaid at all 🙂
