Oh no! I’m so very sorry, honey. Keep her comfortable and love on her as much as you can. Hopefully she’ll live longer than the vet’s prognosis. Regardless, I know she will have lots of love going her way. ((Hugs))

What type of cancer does she have?

Is it a front or hind leg?

I work at a veterinary clinic.

Dogs usually get around in ‘front wheel drive’ as we sometimes say at work. A hind leg is actually easier for them to lose but they get around great without a front leg as well.

Honestly, if it were my dog I would remove the leg and take the few more months.

Did they take chest xrays to ensure it hasnt metastisized?

she’s not scary, she’s adorable! i’m so sorry you have to go through this. i used to work at a big vet hospital and we had a lot of cancer patients. it was one of the hardest things to deal with (emotionally). there’s a pitbull on my facebook that was diagnosed with cancer last year and wasn’t expected (according to the vet) to live past a few months but he’s still here and his owners created a bucket list for him. they added more stuff because he’s still going strong! maybe your baby will live longer than the vet thinks.

@Jenncoco:  Stay strong and enjoy your time with her!  She is so beautiful and I am sure the best friend one could have.

I am so sorry! 🙁  I’m going through something similiar, though with a different kind of cancer with my pup (who is actually my parents, but I love the bugger).  He’ll be 12 this year, but no matter what the age it’s so hearbreaking.  I truly feel for you.  Spend as much time as you can with her!

So sorry to hear that! My childhood dog had a large cancerious tumor on her side/butt area. I remember feeling HORRIBLE! But she lived to be almost 19 years old. She was having trouble walking due to arthritus [or w/e they call it for dogs].
