So after dating for three years, Mr. and I knew we wanted to be together forever but I was waiting for Mr. to propose. I had done the hints, the pics and discussed types of rings and future. We live together. So we had not gone on vacation for two years. Due to some good financial fortune, we were able to plan a vacation to Jamaica. I was so excited to go on the trip. I think a proposal was the last thing on my mind. I had waited through holidays, through special dinners and other family events and well nothing. I did not want to rush him, but was getting jumpy. So I planned the vacation, I wanted to have a romantic trip about us connecting. See we work a lot and this was just what the Dr. Called for. We travel to Jamaica and were staying at a couples resort. so so beautiful. Relaxing and fun.
So I planned a series of Dinners included with the resort, with a special dinner on a private island. If you knew my Mr., he is good at having me plan things, it is a norm. So a proposal was the last thing that came to mine. My radar was up a bit but I had been expecting it for so long I thought no way. He would not bring the ring through customs, on a plane to a foregin county and into a hotel room were i could easily find it.
But when the night came, we took photos before dinner, were taken on a boat to a private island and as the waves were crashing under the stars and moonlight. We started dinner. We always talk at anniversaries about the past present and future of out relationship. So Mr. asked me how I felt things are going. We talked about our humble start, our growth together. With some comical moments we enjoyed apps, salads and wine. As we waited for dinner a sax player came by to plan a song. At the end, Mr. stood up and came to my chair, stumbled for his pocket and then it hit me. He is going to propose. I went into a but of a haze, Just a flood of emotions. He said. All his life he wanted to be a winner and sometimes felt he fell short, but life with me he feels like he is a winner every day. He said I love you and will you marry me. Of course I said yes.
Mr. gave me the ring box and I asked him to put it on my finger. We kissed and returned to the table. Dinner was magical and after dessert the sax player returned to our table and played Unchained Melody. We had a great rest of the trip and a night to top all nights.
Here is a pic of the area on the island were we had dinner. It is a day shot.
And the ring.
