- Wedding: June 2012
I am so excited! I just had to share it with a group that I know would be excited as well! First, a little back story:
I’ve went through so many venues with absolutely, no luck! It was always either out of my budget or would not communicate about having my wedding there. About 4 or 5 days ago, I emailed a place that I had never thought… our local pumpkin patch/Christmas tree farm. This place has been around for generations and the owner celebrates is birthday their everywhere doing the Harvest Festival (he is over a 100!).
Days went back and I figured “Well, they are not going to write back either.” I recieved a reply back with the owner’s granddaughter’s number. She had taken over the event portion of farm. We played phone tag for 3 days… luckily, yesterday she got in touch with me.
She was so nice and so excited that she offered to meet us at the farm today. She let us tour, broke out her sister’s wedding album (complete with an harbor admist a sunflower fields planted specifically for your wedding if you choose!), gave us tons of ideas (she basically was my twin with wedding ideas). Then, came the price discussion, after I fell in love with venue.
As we drove around the farm, I held my breath waiting for the price… $1,500! My next questions was what included? Well, basically anything I wanted. She said she would provide hay bells with burlap overlays for the ceremony (which saves me the price of my original wooden benches)… I also wanted picnic tables for the rustic feel, the farm also had those, which she said she throw in for FREE. She then took me to their storage room while trying to explain they had some kind of poles. Turns out they were shepherd hooks that I could also use for free, along with the mason jar flower holders!
So for $1,500 I get the use of the entire farm including the rustic barn and dining hall, ceremony seating, reception tables and seating, banquet tables for food, and my shepherd hooks with hanging mason jars!
Ladies, how amazing is this? I am in love, LOVE with Old Baker’s Farm! Amazing place and an awesome wedding coordinator/owner! Who would of thought I or anyone could get seating for the ceremony and reception, along with tables for $1,500?!?
