Anyone else not happy with their dress? I like this dress ok, but it doesn’t make me feel as beautiful as I would want to feel on my wedding day. It was a little big when I bought it, so it’s still at the alteration place. Maybe once it fits me better, I will like it more. I felt pressured to buy this dress because it was on sale, it was the last one they had and it was semi-close to what I had in mind. If money were no object, I’d probably buy a different one.

I’m sorry that you’re not totally thrilled with it. If it means anything – I think it’s beautiful!

Thank you. I am so nervous to try it on again. I have heard so many horror stories with alterations and I can already see me breaking down when I try it on if it’s anything less than I expected. Ahh. I hope it fits perfect and I feel better in it.

I felt the same way. I didn’t enjoy trying on dresses as much as I thought I would, so once I found one I liked I committed to it very quickly (surprised both the sales lady and my mom LOL) Then for 5 months the only picture I had to look at was of a model in the dress – who happened to be about 5″11, 100 lbs, and have a 23 inch waist! When I had my first fitting I was disappointed. Somehow it wasn’t what I envisioned all these months, and I got carried away looking at all the THOUSANDS of dresses I could have/should have bought. But I have since done a 180. First, the alterations people can work miracles- just let them know what you want. Make sure you have the proper undergarments – it can make a huge difference. Second – others who have seen my dress disagree and think it’s lovely – as is yours!! There is a reason we picked the dresses we did. They suit our personality. We can drive ourselves crazy looking at all the dresses out there – but at the end of the day people will notice us, and our smile and happiness, more than the dress. All brides are beautiful!

@zandra898 – what a great post! I keep second guessing myself on my dress, but you know what, everything that I look at that I kind of like, I know would look “odd” on me. My dress is the right one for me, even though I may still get dress envy!
