AdaLee:  Honestly? Yes, I see the color difference. I am very color sensitive. That being said, I like that the belt is a different color. It gives contrast, helps give shape, and doesn’t look like a sea of white. You could always insist on trying another belt (you are the customer and the customer is always right), but I like it this way. It’s a beautiful dress.

I think your dress is beautiful, just as it is. However, it if really, really bothers you, speak to the alterations department again and see what they can do.

AdaLee:  Honestly, I think it is beautiful, and I’m sorry this is bothering you. I’d push for another belt if it is really bringing you to tears.

If something bothers you, then you need to fix it. It doesn’t matter if Vera says the dress is special because of the contrasting belt, if you like the dress but not the color of the flowers then you’ll need to fix it.

That being said, I think it looks phenomenal on you. The color difference doesn’t bother me, and as a matter of fact I think I agree that it makes it look special and I think if the color matched perfectly it wouldn’t be as striking of an image. BUT that is my opinion and again, if it bothers you (I am just like you, I harp and harp over small things that will ruin what I imagine so I know the feeling) then you should look into getting something done about it. Maybe look into getting similar flowers made into a similar belt but in the pure white color you’re looking for? I’m sure you can find someone on Etsy or a tailor to mimick the look, but I can’t imagine it’ll be cheap and it might not be perfect either 🙁 I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, but again, I think you look stunning! 🙂

I really like it too. It gives it a little break between all the white. I hope you keep it that way. it looks great on you as well.

She is right that belt makes that dress and if it wasn’t a contrasting color it would get lost in that dress. That belt is beautiful I love that dress!

The belt is beautiful and really emphasizes your waist size and is quite flattering. It’s really quite lovely!

I’m sorry your dress is not what you had in mind. But for what it’s worth, I think it’s actually great that the belt is Ivory! I have seen so many photos of brides in their beautiful wedding dresses, all monotone, and even the ones with beautiful detail look PLAIN! Details like flowers, lace, embroidery get losst in the photos, and that’s what you’re going to look back at. I love that the belt “pops” out, you really have chosen well!

Give it a couple more days to think about it, but if you are still not happy, go back and talk with them. They’re in the business of making people happy, I’m sure they’ll come up with an alternative xx.

I think the belt would get lost in the dress if it was white.

That belt is GORGEOUS and it would get lost in the tulle if it was the same color exactly.  The contrast is very needed.  That said, if you truly hate it then find another.

I agree with the other PP. I think the belt being ivory actually makes the dress pop more and brings it to life.  If it were all white the details of the belt wouldn’t stand out as much and ivory goes great with the gold in the belt as well.   I also think it adds a definite contrast between the material of the top of the dress and the tulle bottom helping to create a great waist.  Of course however,  your opinion is what matters the most and if it really bothers you, you should have it changed.   I just wanted you to know it looks beautiful and great and what I see is really nice as is!

I definitely see the color difference, but I feel like the contrast is beautiful and really makes the belt pop. I feel like this is intentional on the dressmaker’s part.

I also tried this dress on in blush and and even on the blush dress the color of the belt is a deeper brown/pink than the blush satin bodice as well as the tulle, so it’s not just the white dress. I think you didn’t really realize it when you tried it on because the dress wasn’t the color you were going to purchase so you ignored the color difference.

I think the Dress is absolutely gorgeous and it looks amazing on you!

AdaLee:  Totally understand your feelings, but just wanted to chime in and say that like many of the PPs, I think the slight contrast of the belt is gooooorgeous. You look amazing in that dress! I hope that you either get used to it and LOVE it on your wedding day, or are able to find an alternative that you are 100% happy with. I’m sure you could find another statement belt to substitute without loosing the wow factor if you wanted.
