@bridetobee16 That is so crazy you didn’t try it on before ordering. I orginally wasn’t going to look for a dress until I was sure I got an internship (i’m in a clinical psych phd program which has an internship at the end of the phd program, I find out next Friday where I matched, or if I matched) however, when I found out a shop in Wichita was having an Allure trunk show I HAD to make an appointment. I’m so glad I did. The sample was a size 12 and I ordered a size 6 so it didn’t fit me that well even with th clips. However, I tried on another allure mermaid gown that was 6 and loved the fit so I knew this would be perfect. My dress is suppose to come in in June (just ordered a month ago). Hopefully, mine will come in earlier like yours did. Are you wearing a veil? if so, what length?

@DesertLady: Thank you! I’m actually not sure yet if I’ll wear a petticoat. I’m also not familiar with the different kinds of petticoats. I’m sorry that I can’t be of any help to you. The bridal store where you bought your dress may be able to help you more. They usually have different options for petticoats. 🙂
Thank you all so much! 🙂

@wichitastatecheerleader: I’m glad everything worked out for you! We’re the same size?!?! You’re so tiny though (in a good way, of course)! My measurements were also for a size 6, but my bust is for a size 8, so I opted to order a size up.
I am wearing a veil. I may order a veil similar to the one I had on the second picture. I believe it’s a fingertip length. I tried on a cathedral length, but it kept getting caught on the beading of the dress. I think the shorter, the better for me. I know I’ll get one with Swarovski crystals on the edge to match my dress. They look really good together, and the veil didn’t cover the details of the back of the dress. I hope your dress comes in early too! Have fun on your big day, dress twin!!!

Pretty! Thanks for mentioning that you got your dress earlier then expected because I also got an Allure dress and am worried how long it will take since some people said it can take 6+ months to arrive! How many months did you have to wait?

@Seattlegrl: I ordered it end of October, and I got the call from the bridal store on February 7th, so about 3 1/2 months. 🙂
My bridal consultant said different styles are cut (made) at different times…some styles are cut earlier than the other ones. If brides order within the right timeframe, they’ll usually get their dresses before their wedding no matter which dress they order.
The inner and outer shell of the dresses are usually made in China, but where they’re assembled at vary by location. For example, with my dress, the beading was most likely done/sewn-in here in the US since it came to the bridal store at a much earlier time. Dresses that take at least 4 or 5+ months to come in are most likely made/assembled just in China. But this doesn’t apply to all the dresses, some just come earlier or later for no specific reason regarding where they were made from. Either way, it doesn’t really matter (to me at least) where they’re made from since Allure makes high quality dresses. What matters most is that the dresses come in on time.
