Well, being that I’m not weird about maybe one other person trying on the dress, I guess I wouldn’t have initially thought that. Lol. What do you mean “not exactly a sample size?” Where’d you order your dress from?

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and was given a May 1 date; so I have no idea what normal is?

I would just say hey, my dress is in! YAY!

And even if it was previously ordered, no one necessarily tried it on. Maybe they cancelled because their wedding was cancelled. Ya never know?

Yeah, I have never heard of this situation, and I would think that if a store wanted to trick you into going home with a sample gown, they’d have enough brains to wait longer than 11 days.  I’m skeptical myself of what this store has told you, it seems awfully sketchy.  I’d keep calling them, or go in and talk to them, see if you can get them to admit something. In the least, if this is a sample gown, get them to sell it to you for the sample gown  price.  I know this doesn’t help too much, but I wouldn’t just fold at this point.  You deserve to have an answer!

I would inspect it very carefully and ask them in person how it was possible that a dress came in that fast!

It very well could be from someone else’s canceled wedding.  If someone canceled their order while it was in production, they likely wouldn’t stop, but just bump the next person who ordered that particular dress/size up the list.

Yeah, whatever the reason, I definitely think you deserve an explanation.  The store should understand your concerns, as long as you reason with them.

It could happen, the designers do produce certain dresses for quick delivery and yours could have been one that was already in production and when the order came in they filled it with that dress, I wouldn’t be upset. At least you don’t have to worry about it arriving too late!

I bought from RK bridal as well and they quoted me the end of April to arrive… it came in 2 weeks. I was actually annoyed that they pressured me to buy so soon.  Mine a Mori Lee, it is from the 2011 line.  My understanding is that because it is from a new line there are more available and as the year progresses the estimated time will be closer to correct.  I am still stalling on trying it on tho.

@His_Miss_World I am planning to do the alterations there.  I know there are bad reviews out there, but I feel more comfortable knowing that they can replace it if worse comes to worse. I’m also glad that they are storing it, I would have no place to put it between now and november.  I’m not sure, but they told me the cap on alterations was $350, which sounds reasonable to me, especially because I believe that I should have ordered a size down…

It would be funny if we are wearing the same dress…
