My dress…does it need something else?

Regarding shapewear, you don’t need to wear anything that sucks you in. But lightweight bicycle short length undergarments will ensure no panty lines. They also allow the fabric to drape nicely.

@winterily:  I’m thinking that the emerald green rhinestone belt would look totally amazing with your dress and Id also pair it up with emerald earrings a bold lip and some old hollywood style hair.

I also second trying an aline slip/ hoop to poof the skirt out slightly and seeing if you like it on you.

Also  loving that your young son has such awesome pizzazz to  choose on his own that he wants to wear a green suit! Love it so much and it brought a huge smile to my face  reading it! Hopefully you’ll come back and post some pics after your big day!

I’m personally not a fan of colored belts/sashes. I do like the uneven lace one someone posted! I was going to suggest a slightly thicker belt to really draw the eye to your thin waist. I would go with a “satin” with maybe a strip of rhinestones like the one you posted on top of it

But as soon as I started searching I got distracted by the million types. Something like this maybe but not for this price! https://www.etsy.com/listing/628700122/silk-satin-inch-and-a-half-wide-belt

@winterily:  honestly, no belt is needed.  It looks perfectly elegant as it is.  A belt would just be distracting.  A beautiful bouquet and you are good to go.

It’s a beautiful dress and you are going to look stunning – I agree with ditching the current belt though.  I don’t know if it’s just how it’s photographed here, but to me, it looks more like a fold of the bodice material that has bunched up around your middle than an actual belt.  It’s also a bit too bulky and distracts from the line of the dress.  Love the idea of the belt with uneven edges, and if you could find one with a pop of green in it to match your son’s amazing suit, that would be incredible.

Oh, and simple/classic/elegant does NOT equate to ‘super boring’.  It’s a beautiful dress and you are going to be a beautiful bride.

I absolutely the sparkly belt with green stones that a PP posted, I’m a huge fan of a pop of colour!

Like a PP, I also thought that the current belt was actually dress fabric that had bunched up! I think switching the belt is a good idea, but I would recommend something a little thicker than the original rhinestone belt you posted-I think that thickness would sort of get lost in the lace. Maybe something a half inch to a inch wide?

It could be rhinestones, or a delicate silk ribbon (or if you are having a winter wedding, a plush velvet ribbon).

IMO the current belt is too wide and cuts you in half in an unflattering way and place. If it looks finished underneath I’d prefer no belt at all or something much thinner. I think that will give a more streamlined look. Am not a fan of the green belt idea.

Many thin and fit women wear shapewear anytime they are in anything form fitting.

I do not  care for the green belt, I’d prefer the small rhinestone belt or the one that had the single in the front.

Either way, you will be a beautiful bride.

I would do a chunky rhinestone belt. Which I did do!

@winterily:  i personally don’t like the green sash idea (but love the one green jewel in belt idea)…i think as is is really pretty or a rhinestone belt (the one a bee posted is really pretty) would be great 🙂

@winterily:  I voted for the belt with the green stone on your other poll, but seeing you have red hair, I’m even more in favour of it now – that green is usually a stunner on redheads, so you will look amazing.
