I am so mad at myself! My alterations appt is Dec 30th & My dress will not fit! I have a few inches to go to get it to puul together must less zip! What do I do?! I am trying to diet but nothing seems to work & I get discouraged really quick…. Has anyone else been in this postion?

dieting is hard. and discouraging. trust me, i’ve been on and off of diets for years and years.
have you begun working out? even walking every day is helpful. our mall opens up early in the morning before the stores open, just for people to walk. it’s a pretty decent walk too. you can see if a mall near you does that.

@FutureMrsPrice: Does it have a corset back? If not ADD ONE! This will leave room if you gain or lose!

Best of luck, I know you will look beautiful, regardless.

@MissFireFlower: This. Definitely. Any seamstress worth her salt should be able to change it to a corset back reasonably easily- they even sell kits so you can do it yourself. Also, which part of your body is the problem? If it’s your ribcage or hipbones then dieting may not help, but a corset back might (make it a back that begins lacing fairly low if it is your hips).

My dress was zipping but it was so tight it took 2 people to hold it together/ zip it up and they said that’s how it was supposed to be…. bwahahahah. I ended up asking to have a corset put in to avoid any wedding day zipper pops or no one being able to zipper it at all. The corset looked so pretty and it felt much better to wear. I think it was only $105 to put the corset in but it was worth it to know my dress would fit on the wedding day! =)

1. Diet at once and exercise! I use MyFitnessPal phone ap.
2. Corset back on the dress.
3. Buy yourself a proper, steel boned corset immediately… they can reduce your waist by up to four inches.

I agree with the Corset, as long as it will look nice with your style of dress! Also, try using portion control for all meals, and if you aren’t exercising, even just go for walks. I always lose a couple pounds whenever I take care of my FI’s parent’s dogs, because they force me to go for walks.

if you really need to lose weight try ideal protein. It is hard, but my mom lost 58 lbs in 4 months.

Agree with MissFireFlower. Corset is an easy and beautiful solution! It will look like part of the dress! (unless it is a side step)

Thanks for all the feedback!! I have considered the corset back but will it look okay even though the back of my dress goes down into the V shape? I am thinking I need to go ahead and get them to add the corset back to it?! I am so scared of it messing up the dress tho 🙁
ForeverBirds I am really not sure where the problem is I just think it’s mostly my mid- section/ stomach area that Ive gained most the weight in.
& I also haven’t purchased my under clothing yet & when I tried the dress on when I first purchased it I had on the corset that DB offers. Maybe that makes a little difference as well? The dress itself has a fitted mid section already.

CourtneyB what is a side step? sorry all this wedding language confuses me lol

I have been walking almost everyday, a mile after dinner & stopped drinking soda & also watching my carb intake but for some reason this weight is not going anywhere! 🙁

This happened to me too! I have my final fitting tomorrow and I am so apprehensive that its not going to fit still! They added a corset back for me and hopefully that will fix it, I am just worried it isn’t going to look the same! I will have to wait and see!

So I was thinking right then.. When I go in for my alterations appt and it doesnt fit. They will offer the corset back & then I will have to wait til it’s completed and come back in for a fitting?! OMG I will be worrying myself to death waiting to see if it fits after that! I am so mad at myself that my dress doesnt fit! But yay for you they wait is over 🙂 I’m sure it will fit & you will love it! Post pics!! 🙂

@FutureMrsPrice: Aww thanks for the positive comment! I think you need to remain positive and hope that it fits! You still have while to go and strict healthy eating and excercise can get you a long way. Even cutting out simple things like sugar in your coffee and tea, or coffee and tea in general and drinking lots of water will help!
