OMG, my dress was perfect when i bought it and the last time i tried it on 5 months ago. i was so happy that i didn’t need any alterations because there are no side seams. well, we just flew back into ontario for the wedding next weekend. i tried my dress on yesterday and i could see right down the front of it. even the built in bra wouldn’t hold it in place. yikes.
i didn’t diet, i didn’t excercise or anything. i was really sick 6-7 weeks ago and lost 15lbs and haven’t been able to gain it back yet. i have been eating a lot over the past few weeks and nothing. of course most of the loss is in my chest, lol. i called the seamstress who added the bustle for me and she had me come in right away and said that she will have to take it all in at the back zipper. i hope everything works out. it’s going to take a 4-5 days. my wedding is in 7.
this is the dress (no pics of me in it yet) sorry, big pic.

@mypinkshoes: I’m sure that she can/will take care of it for you. It will be fine! 🙂

First of all, I love your dress!
Second, when I opened this post I was expecting to read that it was too small. Comparatively, this isn’t too bad! Sounds like you’re already on top of it with letting the seamstress know. I’m sure they’ll be able to adjust it so it fits. Those women are magical!

she is a lovely woman but i swear the look on her face, she was almost in tears because it’s not going to be easy. she kept saying, oh, dear, oh, my. i reasurred her that it wasn’t my fault.

beautiful dress!!!!! We are date twins 🙂 I had some what of a same issue with timing and alterations, They had it done and perfect in less then 5 days 🙂 So no worry your dress will be perfect and you will be so so happy!!!

I know that the timelines are tight, but seamstresses can work magic. It’s much easier taking material away, than adding it if the dress were too small. Try not to worry and enjoy your last week as a single woman..lol

yikes ! Good thinking trying it on again ! I really hope everything works out perfectly:)
Very pretty dress btw !

I read this thinking it was going to be too tight! Think of it this way at least it can be taken in easily! If it was the otherway with no seams then you would be up a creek without a paddle unless you had a quick seamstress who could put a corset in!

She will get it fixed!!! I completely understand your worry!

What were you sick with? Did you catch the flu or something! YIKES!

what a beautiful dress! good luck! wow, how lucky and unlucky to suddenly lose a bunch of weight without trying (being sick is no fun but hey there’s always a bit a bright side! at least you don’t have to starve yourself the whole week before like most of my friends do)
hope the alterations work out..but if it is not perfect, chicken cutlets always save the day 😉 happy wedding!

well, she did take the dress in…but too much. it was too tight at the top of the zipper so she had to let it out a bit again. the zipper is no longer a hidden zipper like before. i am not too happy with it.
