Everyone hopes for the “moment” when they know their dress is their dress but I had some issues. It might just be that it was my first time trying dresses on but….who knows! Third dress turned out to be the one and then my experience got kind of sour.
I went to David’s Bridal, I knew my appointment was scheduled as an hour and thirty minutes (from 3 pm to 4:30 pm). I left the store feeling awesome that I bought a dress but also got some undergarnments that the sales consultant told me I needed as well as a veil and headpiece. When I tried dresses on the consultant gave me a too large corset…then SOLD me the same corset. I requested a smaller size and tried it on when I got home. It is STILL too large in the uh hem, boob area. I usually wear a D cup WHEN the bra is a push up. I explained this to the consultant and she gave me a Dirty Delete at first. I had to request the D cup and it is still too large. Hopefully I’ll be able to swap for a smaller cup size at my first fitting. If not I think I’ll become her worst nightmare, a BRIDEZILLA!!!
The second thing that upset me that day was that my consultant had another bride come in at 4pm. This bride brought 4 young kids with her (one which kept screaming and crying) and at least 10 other people! The consultant went and starting helping this other bride while I was getting credit card information for my purchase. I totally understand that the other person had to be helped but I felt that my consultant kind of stopped paying attention to me once i made my decision and paid. And I still had thirty minutes left of my appointment!
My friend and I had to wait at least 15 minutes while she helped this other bride into her dresses and to process my payment and I still had the dress on and really just wanted to leave. I felt like my day was ruined by screaming kids (please leave young ones at HOME with a baby sitter!).
Overall I love my dress but definately hope my first fitting will be a better experience.
